Depends on where you're at and the owners. BowlMor sees open bowler's paying more per game and think that's the way to go while small, family owners prefer the steaady income of leagues. Less per game per bowler but steady income.

Our center although AMF is still league bowler centric. Not much of a party crowd. Those people go to Brunswick XL.

But unless they change what their doing the leagues are going to slowly die. They are resting on their current leagues. The Tues-Wed-Thur night leagues are fine. Long going leagues with teams formed years ago and will never quit until they start dying.

But other nights are hit and miss. Our Sunday night league is down to 10 teams and will just get smaller. They don't know how to get new teams. Just a simple sign up sheet by front entrance isn't enough.

You obviously don't understand the difference between competitive bowling and bowling for fun. The people who bowl late night and at cosmic bowling arent there because about there scoring. Its usually kids who want to have a good time or people on dates. The immaturity in your posts are mind boggling.

Center where I bowl is both party and league friendly. Cosmic Bowling til 230 am on the weekends and we love it. The nightclub keeps it going. My wife loves to dance lol.

Most of the Bowlmor (former AMF/Red Carpet) houses in SE Wisconsin have folded. The smaller houses stay open. There used to be a day when the bars always did well at alleys, especially the bigger ones. Not so much anymore

Our center is a league house. They cater to league bowlers. Friday and Saturday night is cosmic bowling after 11:30. Our league bowls on Friday and we get done about 11:15 and the cosmic bowlers have to wait out side until 11:30 because the get in the way of the league bowlers trying to put their stuff away and check the high scores and texas holdem scores at the counter. Plus in bad weather they track in snow and cause problems by standing in the isle and so they are told to stay out until the league is finished.

How many read this and laughed. I've seen better form during cosmic bowling than some videos that have been submitted for critique. Seen a ton worse too. But for this to come from a person with a "unique" style is hilarious.

I love league play but started getting into bowling due to late night "glow bowl" it can be a gateway, my friends and I would bowl every weekend for years. Than one day we all just split into teams and joined a men's league that had been around for a long time. I'm ok with it and think that it has a place. I know what it's like to enjoy this sport on both sides of that fence. If you want to do your part you should go some weekends and when bowlers around you see how your bowling see that hook they want that! You just show them how you do it and tell them about the balls in the pro shop. I always lead with even if you only bowl once a month don't you want your own ball that has not had 10000 gross fingers in it from god knows where! After having fun with some of the people at glow bowl I have seen them in leagues the next year or so.

Lol, so only open bowlers track in snow?

A "League" bowler takes his bag out of the car, and rolls it thru the parking lot picking up who knows what crap onto the wheels.

Then in USBC's most important tournament, they allow these bags with crap on the wheels to be rolled on the approaches where people will have to slide.

There are a ton of daytime senior leagues around here. I think it's because that generation was much more into bowling than the past couple of generations have been.
