Little house in New Philadelphia OH called Wabash Lanes. 20 lanes, all original wood from 1954. League I subbed in was really there to drink beer and socialize. No one shot over 200. I had a 197 game two. Lanes were........um, interesting to play on. I couldn't figure out the right lane all night. If I wasn't thru the nose I left a washout or 2-8-10.
One guy on the other team had a interesting approach. He never took his left hand out of his front pocket while bowling. He would grab his ball off the return and walk up and bowl without even setting up for the shot. Then come back and drink his beer.
I was told no one in the league has shot over 700. With the way the lanes are now I understand. There are rumors about installing synthetic lanes in December. Sure wouldn't hurt !! Had fun bowling with guys who couldn't care less. One guy was using a brand new just-drilled Storm Rocket Ship. $200 ball and he throws it dead straight. He was letting everyone smell the new ball. Crazy night.
