View Full Version : what's your weekly goal?

One of mine is: No series below 650, and I missed it three times. 644, 615, and 602 (602, I used the no rules on low volume - bad juju)

Someone once told me, today 600 isn't like yesterdays 600 series. Today's 700 series is yesterdays 600 series. Since then, that has stuck with me.

I have many goals that can change as the night goes on, but generally the number one goal is to limit the mistakes. I feel that if I do that, I'll achieve my other goals:

Weekly goals:
650 series
No game under 200
As a team, win our points

Season goals:
Multiple 700s
At least one 750
A 300
Beginning the season the goal was a 210 average, I've raised that goal to 215.

I've had lower goals
1) At least one game a series over 200
2) As many 600's as possible
3) End season above 200

We'll see

Senior Bowler, many years off and it's a new game for me
Score 150 to 160
Spare shooting is bad so keep working and trying to improve
Where to play the lane with my Strike ball. This has improved dramatically in the last two weeks. Starting to string strikes together.
Last: have fun and what happens is fine

These are good goals. I like the way #2 reads, as many as possible would be one every night ;)

Mine.

1. 600 series
2. No miss on single pin spares.
3. Team wins more points than it loses.

I'm looking to be around 660 each time out, but Texas Station is going to be the toughest. Like everybody says here, if you can bowl good at Texas Station, you can bowl good anywhere in this town.

I also wan to improve on making my spares as well. too much inconsistency for my liking.

I have averaged in the mid 170's for the past three years. My goals are: 550+ series for 6 consecutive weeks. No games under 150. 200+ game each week. Slow down and Have fun.
so far I have Not met #1 and #2 but have met the last ones. I have just one week under 550 so in a few weeks I may have to look at extending that.

To sweep all my points and win all the brackets I enter.

Win brackets and shoot in the 700 range

My goals are:

1. Shoot above 660 but aim for 700 (Goal for the year is 220+ average and currently at 222)
2. Make all of my 10 pins
3. Win all of my points

In the one house where I bowl, I'm averaging more than 30 pins less than the other house, so my goal is not to suck too badly at the difficult (for me) house.

My other goal is to cash every week (so far so good) which pays for my weekly fees and more. Coming home with $40 to $100 a night pretty much would pay off the whole year and still have enough to give my teammates $5 every time I make more than $40-$50 a night. (it's a good luck thing, to share my winnings with my teammates.)

What do you do to make $40 to $100 every week? Just wondered.

I needed to shoot a 600 series, still one of my goals but right now, one 200 game a week. I have lowered my expectations and am shooting better since I have, real goal nothing under 500

Thats insane over 30 pins difference between houses.

Yes, it's very insane, as well as supremely frustrating. I simply can't figure out the problem. The house with the lower average has wood lanes and the higher average has synthetic lanes. Oil isn't any different, THS, and for the first 3 weeks at the wood house, I averaged MORE than the synthetic lanes.

what is the different reaction of the ball in the lower average house? I would guess you can adjust to it unless it's bad breaks on good hits?

Side pots and brackets.

Those that sweep the 3 games side can take home at least $80

A separate side action worth $10 to $20 a game takes place some times takes place.

There's a league that has something like 30 on the 10th frame, only one winner. If there's a tie, the money rolls over. winners can reach up to $1000+

dmet225

The reaction is virtually identical. It's almost as if there is only 1 board I can hit, and if I miss either way, I miss the headpin completely to the right or cross over. There is NO in between.

1. Encourage the youth bowlers that I coach.
2. Enjoy the friendly competition.
3. Bowl as well as I can.

Weekly league goals:

1. 700 series
2. No game under 200
3. over 90% on single pins
4. over 75% total spare conversion rate

A non measurable goal to to read the transition and not be behind the moves, but if I reach my series goal it probably means I read the transition well.

I'm positive $472 after 7 weeks from brackets and side pots. That's after taking my league expenses out as well. Best league night this season was week 3 for $190 profit night. Followed that up the next week with a $70 loss lol

After hernia repair surgery four weeks ago, I have just have one goal: to be able to bowl again!

To learn something new that helps my game. I'm fairly new again & I pick up tidbits of info about playing the lanes, how to hook my ball less on dry lanes, changing my foot work, etc.

If you're only using 1 ball for strikes and spares, flatten your hand out and throw straight at the pin(s). If you aren't able to do that (and there are those who can't) then get yourself a plastic ball.
