Hey all,
I'd like to get some opinions on Motov's bowling equipment. A guy on my team (a former pro and pro-shop operator) has really been talking up Motiv lately. He's been saying that the coverstocks are a lot thicker and there's a lot less filler material in the balls. What is everyone's opinion on the matter? I've tried doing some googling but a lot of what i get is pretty old data.
Thanks,
Rob

I don't know if the coverstocks are thicker or not, but I've noticed that the Motiv balls we have, absorb a lot less oil than the Storm and RotoGrips we have.

The PSO's here in Vegas speak very highly not only of the Motiv equipment, but the owners as well.
They are also convinced, that, even though the Jackal and Jackal Carnage were banned, it was not something that was intentional by any means.
As the saying goes, there's no such thing as a bad ball these days.

I don't know how thick the cover is on one of them but I
do know that they carry the pins pretty darn well from
what I seen the other night.
This past Thursday night league the team we were bowling
against both of the girls had just had a Motiv Forza GT drilled
up for them and they killed the pins with them.
They both were shooting 220+ games with them on maybe
150+ averages so we didn't stand a chance.
I'm going to check into getting one of them for myself even
though I'm not a fan of Motiv never have been until I seen
them throwing them the other night so it might just make
me reconsider getting one of them.

I have a jackal and a trident. Both good balls but they are not any better than my hammer or storm balls.

It's allowed in my league.

Is it a unsanctioned league?

It's allowed in my league.
If it is a sanctioned league then no it isn't allowed to be used
not legally anyway so if you were to bowl a honor game/score
it would get denied.

It could be the Jackal LE which is the new replacement and is legal.

That's a good point but if it isn't the Jackal LE then it is still
not legal to use it in a sanctioned league.

It's an original jackal. Not the new LE. Center I play at is unsanctioned leagues.

Oh well then you're good to go until you want to bowl
somewhere else that is sanctioned.

I have several Motiv balls. They absorb less oil and you do not want to bake them. I've tried with three in the rejuvenator and none were ever the same again. I haven't cracked one yet so I don't know about cover thickness. I do know that with a good driller with a vast undersanding of Motiv balls they go through the pins like nothing else I've ever thrown. I use Bob Kelly at Golden Approach Pro Shop in Kettering Ohio. Bob and his wife Linda are both on Motiv staff. Plus being able to talk bowling with his daughter-in-law is a plus too.
Current Motiv balls; Jackal LE, Shock, two OG Revolt, Panic, Cobra, Tag, Freestyle, Rebel Tank
