Always seems about this time each year I got on a month long struggle. I feel good bowling but I'm just not doing what I need to do. Can't hit my mark, missing easy spares, etc. hopefully it ends tonight. Hopefully....

One of my houses I'm bowling better than I ever bowled the other one I'm having to make myself go every week.
I'm averaging 203 in one house 176 in the other. Travel challange shot leagues been ok 186. Tried about everything couldn't find anything to work Saturday changed back to the more aggressive ball I'd tried early in the season and shot 595. So at least there's always hope.
Good luck in cutting this winter slump short this year

Struggling? Yes, Since the beginning of the season.
Been having a few bright spots, but the consistency just isn't there.

I've been doing okay, but not terribly consistent. Two weeks above average, then two weeks below, but neither by a ton. Would love to solve the mystery regarding my footwork, which has been atrocious.....

I feel like I've been off all season , but checking my sanctioned league history on Leaguesecretary.com, for the first month and a half I would have a fairly good week followed by a bad week followed by an okay week and so on. The last week in October I went into four straight weeks of bad bowling. All season my ball speed has seemed to have been slower than normal. It's closer to normal left-handed than right but still down.
The last two weeks have been good, ball speed seem back to normal, still having the occasional mental lapse on easy spares but much better than the previous 4 weeks.

Struggling? Yes and no. I feel like I'm bowling better than I have in a long time and my averages have been creeping up, but I can't seem to shoot good series (600+). I've lost some weight recently (30+lbs) which allows me to have much better balance at the line and feel like I'm throwing decent shots, but not getting the carry. Then Spare shooting has been, literally, hit or miss. My average is up to 186, which is OK, but I feel with a little better spare shooting, I could be up close to 200.

I've been struggling with shot making. My average is up about 5 pins over last year, but I'm just not feeling great about it. Looking back on previous years I typically figure some things out towards the end of January and go on a run. Hopefully this year I can get my accuracy and spare shooting in line over the next month and continue that trend.

On the house with wood lanes, I suck. Averaging 190.
15 of 36 (41.7%) games over 200, with ZERO above 250.
5 of 12 (41.7%) series over 600, with one of them BELOW 500
On the house with synthetic lanes, I'm at my all time high average of 215.
28 of 39 (71.8%) games over 200 with 4 of them over 250.
9 of 14 series over 600 (64.3%), with 4 of them over 700.

I never shot over 600 in November in league. Dec 1st I shot my first 600+ since October.

I was struggling for a bit when I changed my shoes. I had to adjust myself by moving back on my approach about 18", and I am much more comfortable.
I went to my coach today and the only issue he had, was, I needed to get my elbow closer to me.
My ball speed has increased from 14mph to around 17.5, and my rev rate has gone from around 240 to around 310.
Other than that he was extremely pleased with my overall game. So much so he gave me his thoughts on my odds when I go to the Regional in Reno in March.
80% to cash, 60% to make the Stepladder Finals and 30% chance to win the event.
While I sure hope he's right, I know that I'm gonna have to bring my best games ever to cash. And you can bet that I'm going to give it my all.

Those must have been some long shoes! The regional in Reno is that a Pro regional or just a bunch of regional bowlers? Good Luck to you.

I just came back to bowling in October after a year and a half layoff because of surgeries. So I have bowled three times. My average is 130. Now you have to remember that before my layoff my average was 180. Most of my series were at least 500 scratch. I had to change my approach because of a left hip replacement and knees that are not as good as they used to be. So I just try to do the best I can. I don't practice anymore so I can't expect much. When my average was 180 I didn't practice but I still would string strikes and have games over 200. The games I bowl now are more like a beginner. It is kind of hard to take but at least I am bowling finally. That is all that matters to me now.

Longer than my old ones! Went from an 11 to a 12 wide! lol
It's the PBA Sands Regency West/Northwest Classic presented by Brunswick March 17-19.

Have you ever been to the stadium before? Neat place but downtown Reno leaves a lot to be desired.

I've been doing horribly this season. Just not "in" to it at all this year and it shows.

Never been there, and the last time I was in Reno was back in the mid 80's.
