Made good even great shots today yet I shot 2 140's and maybe a 160...lol.. Almost 85% of my shots were in the 1-3. I left approx, 15 , 10 pins. 4 , 7 pins, a Solid 8 pin and a pocket 7-10, and probably more disappointing leaves. I actually don't mind the scores that much because the ball was where I wanted it. Started with my Phaze and the 10 pins came as usual. Switched to my Track ball and the same, the lanes must have been dry because both balls were flying to the headpin. they were working on the A/C and I don't think it was even on. On a good carry day I would have shot 650 IMO. Since I started driving for UBER in the morning I do not practice like I used to, I actually only bowl once a week now in the Wednesday afternoon league. I have to get back to practice...
My issue today was not leaving so many 10 pins, But not being able to convert them.
And to add on to this I won the 50-50 drawing and got a whole 18.00, it's usually 30 or 40....lol..No breaks at all today....

My guess is that some one on here will tell you to move you feet a half a board one way or another. But in truth "re-watch the Forrest Gump movie" Sh*t happens. Next time you might carry everything. I hope you do and come back and tell us about it.;)

As I said it was just a bad carry day for me....I am happy I hit the 1-3 so many times. The early release advice I got here helped me from pulling the ball at least....Bad day for carry, good day for ball placement...When I threw a strike even the other team said...And Lou looks up with amazement....lol

You'll have better days! Some days you just can't carry the corners. Some days you never leave a corner pin

We all have those days it's part of the game. Sometimes you can change balls or your line and it helps sometimes it doesn't matter what you do. If I'm having one of those nights I really try to focus on getting through the ball and not being lazy with it. every now and then that helps.

Last month for two weeks in a row I had a similar situation. Even after saying to myself a week after having a No Tap night, "last week can't happen again." and it did.
I normally bring two first balls and a spare. I did everything I could to trip the corners, but whatever I did didn't work. (I did leave a 2, 4's 6's, back row pin for the series - many 10 pins and couple of 7's if I remember.) Ultimately a ball with more surface and playing a different part of the lanes, away from traffic, may have had better results. Oh, I got lucky the first week, almost shooting a triplicate 204 204 205. If I did, it'll be my 6th trips in the last 2.5 seasons. lol
The second week I had similar situation with a totally different look from each lane. Our pair had open bowling and I made the mistake of just bringing only my urethane ball and spare. I did everything I knew to carry, but I was getting over under reactions. My goal after the first game was just get it to the pocket and rely on my spare game. I threw what seemed like a good shot and I leave a bed post. I threw horrible shots,I carried!! It took two games to settle down and rolled a decent third game which avoided a sub 600 night. (176 185 242) The guys made a dry path and I took advantage of it the last game. I did get a few breaks though, but still a tough night which was actually fun.
There was a show where randy told stone - Duke vs. Voss??, I don't remember.... anyway, Randy P. said. "some nights you're the dog, and some nights you're the hydrant." I saw this telecast almost 10 years ago or so, and I still use this phrase to motivate me to avoid getting pissed on too much lol. I'll get pissed on, but I'm not staying for the full golden shower.

So much depends on your ball roll. Tuesday I subbed for one of the bowlers on my wife's team. I shot 570 and left at least a dozen ten pins in three games. One of the bowlers on the other team left more than I did. Meanwhile, another bowler on the other team left a ten pin in the eighth frame of the last game and said to me "You're going to kill me, but that's my first ten pin today." So true about the dog and the hydrant!

Man, isn't that the truth! lol
Last Wednesday, I bowl a 722 at Texas Station and this past Wednesday I bowl a 538. Go figure!
It was just one of those weeks where it seems like there were more fire hydrants than dogs. lol

Well at least I don't feel alone in this. I finally learn to stop pulling the ball and this is what it gets me?...lol. I don't have a spare ball yet so I miss most 10 pins by a hair left or overthrow and it goes in the gutter. It seemed to be only me, no one else left them they were tripping them as far as I seen or just killing them. Even on the light hits all the pins just surrounded the 7 pin like they were protecting it....haha. Then the solid 8 pin, that was a shot that I would have walked away from and bet it was a strike..... happened with both my balls and lines as I said. I will practice this weekend and check my release and all.
At one point in the second game I walked down a few lanes after a tap and said someone pack up my stuff I'll see yall next week....had a few laughs about it anyway..
