Been having an issue with my Grudge Hybrid lately in league. At times I can make it move and hit like a truck. Other times, the sucker won't come back at all. During practice today, I noticed them inserts were beaten up pretty good. The PSO replaced them and wow, like new! Every throw it came back like it used to. Hopefully, this will help in my Sunday League coming up.

Love new inserts. I probably replace them sooner than I have to. I stepped up in size and still need to replace the ones in my trident. Have always used vice because that's what my pso has always had. Wanted to try out turbo and just received my set from bb.com during their countdown sale. Can't wait to try them out. Got the clear ice and they seem quite a bit softer than the vice.

I just had all of my inserts and slugs replaced. Thank god it doesn't cost me anything.

I'm hard on finger inserts and realize how important keeping them fresh is, so for less than $100 I picked up a removal tool and several dozen inserts. Now I change mine out after ever 20 games or so

Getting rid of worn out inserts and adding Fresh ones every 9 to 21 games is something 95% (guessing) of bowlers don't do. I replace inserts every 9 to 15 games and I don't do shims when inserts loose their firmness, or get "loose". Only time I add a shim in the back side of an insert is when the size of the inserts are off.

That's a great idea. Are they easy to insert? How would I know the size of the inserts?

Inserts are easy to put in yourself.
Here's a basic example :
(There are variations, Like Personally I don't push that one side down I feel it makes the hole bind a little. So I just trim off what sticking up so it's flush.

As for inserts size, inserts are labeled with the finger size just look on your old inserts or ask the PSO what size your using.
You can see a example of the size here. (23)

I recently started changing my inserts my self and have been very very happy with doing it. And new inserts can make a huge difference!! This is an absolute must learn.

I changed the inserts in my ball recently, but made no difference in play.

I prefer turbo to vice. I find the vice inserts to be a little stiff.

Here you go Lou this will get those inserts out Columbia 300 Insert Puller (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/accessories/columbia-300/5780/insert-puller.html) just as long
as they are 31/32" diameter inserts. I could only use one for one insert on my ball as the
other insert is I believe 1 1/32 in diameter so I just use my pocket knife to get them out
and it is cheaper on me that way too. LOL!!!!!

There's many ways to remove them, Like I take a pocket knife and slip the blade down the side of the insert and just cut it loose and pull it out.

I glue inserts using the 3 6 9 method. Lol...and on the filler is where I glue my inserts. I use gel glue by loctite and use s tiny drop on the three sides, I don't over glue. Also, I use a 1/8" flat head screw driver to remove the inserts. I did have and use a insert tool before, but I do a cleaner job with a screw driver.

Is this the one you use fokai? I'm looking to maybe start doing my own. I tried using a small screwdriver but it felt like I was putting a lot of force on the edge of the finger hole. That's why I liked that tool.
