I thought about several times building my own. However, it's not like I was buying a Storm Surface Factory machine or a Haus so I decided just to buy instead. It just seemed much safer and trouble free.

And of course I had to try it out. Wanted to practice on an old ball to hone technique before I got into the new stuff. This is 500/2000 with Valentino's Snake Oil. Really like this polish because it is very little grit so it doesn't effect the surface underneath.

I'm going to start on a cabinet when I have some free time. For now I just have it in a storage bin so it doesn't splatter everywhere.
Really excited to be able to play at home when I want!

Forgot to include another pic and for some reason I couldn't edit.
Here is what it looked like before I started. It is in the back right corner.

Make sure to take a sharpie pen and mark the back of each abralon each time you use it. To keep track of how many times you use it.

Now you can save money on new balls. :D

I haven't used abralon in years, they just don't last like the others I'm using currently.

Snake oil is a really good polish and I've used it for years.

Cmon now. You can't make a statement like that and not tell me what the "others" are haha. I'm always up for suggestions.

Dave, not sure if you shop here for sanding pads.....

http://abralonpads.com/

I'm using siaair pads, jost, and 3M Trizact

Jost seem to longer than abralon and Siaair pads.

Abralon last 3 to 5 uses then I toss them out or keep them for cleaning tools lol.

Trizact goes a looooonnnggg way. Not sold on the website I gave you. They are sold elsewhere and are not hard to find. 1000, 3000, and 5000 grits are the ones I use. WAAAAYYYYY better than Abralon.

For polish and cleaners, I keep it simple and Valentino has great products. But I do have Clean n Dull and LMB cleaners too. But for legal use on the lanes, Remedy Rx is my favorite. Cleans, dries fast, and leaves balls tacky. Keep my ball reaction going.

Thanks for the reply! Very helpful.
I've never shopped for pads before. Spinner and pads came direct from Innovative. I will definitely look into those other pads when it comes time. And sounds lke that won't be long haha.

Yes! I use the Rx and the snake oil. Love them both. I also use motiv scuff and the Genesis maxx. It is supposed to be same formula as the LMB blue that is out of production. Very potent cleaner but not anytime approved like the LMB is.

Strong smelling cleaners like LMB, genesis max, ThAt purple stuff...... I'd Open all the doors in the garage lol...

I should ask the guys at genesis for some maxx and give it a try..

Got to play around a little with the spinner today for tournament tonight.
Refinished my DareDevil, man I love this thing!
Used storm's guide for 1500 grit polish. Used Valentino Snake Oil for the polish. Really happy with the results.

I think I would hold off until you see how well it matches up with the lane conditions before saying how happy you are with the results.

Ha ha touche.
Well I'm atleast happy about the results of my first real refinish job.
It's my first tournament in 14yrs. I'll be satisfied if I make top 50. Even if not it will be a good experience getting back in.

Well, you called it John. It sure looked pretty, but wasn't the right ball for tonight. The new Ghost however, well exceeded expectations.
