What is the one thing you think about when you throw the ball?
What is that thought you always use to make sure you hit your mark? release it perfect? get to that break point?
Is that something that you use, swing thought, reminder.. that helps you ball well????
thanks

I don't have a consistant swing thought. That may be another of my problems with this game. I have used the mantra "don't think" when shooting corner pin spares. I have also used "short first step" when I find myself pulling the ball.

I usually have a plan on how to attack the lanes before I step on the approach. Once I'm on the approach, I line up, take a deep breath and go.

About a year ago, I interview dozens of top bowlers from the PBA, PWBA, PBA50, and Team USA. I asked them all what they felt on a perfect shot. Every single one of them said, "absolutely nothing." "Just let it go," is a pretty good swing thought. IMHO

For some that just results in gutter balls :)

Yeah if I "just let it go" it lands on the approach 2 feet behind me :)

Rather than" let it go" I need to think "wait for it" that way I don't muscle or squeeze the ball. Much cleaner and more leverage when i wait for it rather than try and make it go.
