So, who is going to Vegas to this years Championships?

Will Aslan finally step up to the plate and give it a go???

I will be there May 27 & 28.

Although I did not bowl that well last year, I more than made up for it in brackets and side tournaments. And, it's Vegas, come on. LOL!

I'm waiting on a couple of things, but I'll be there. it's just a matter of when.

That 40 minute drive there is a killer! lol

I'll be there May 7th and 8th. Vegas should be a good time, we are turning it into a mini vacation.

Hopefully I can improve on a poor team and doubles event and have a repeat of singles. Brackets will be interesting with the new division added, I'm not exactly sure what the right strategy will be this year.

Watching on-line, have a local guy doing really well, he just made it into the round of 12 !

I think you have confused the USBC Masters with the USBC Open Championships.

I will be going in a couple of weeks. My home bowling center put down last years team pattern for me to practice on today. I am hoping to do a lot better than I did last year.

I did the Team event on the 20th, and I'm doing the Doubles and Singles on March 17th.

I bowled so badly last week I won't even post my scores.

How was the shot for team event?

How was the shot for team event?

It appeared to be flat and around 45ft. The backends were really taking off and making a very hard turn.

Your spare game will have to be at its absolute best.

One of my teammates is there now, didn't do too well in the team and doubles, but is doing well after the first round of singles.

I've been giving a lot of lessons to bowlers in town for the event. From what I'm hearing, one of the big differences this year is that the difference in lengths between the two patterns is much greater than the traditional 1'. A lot of bowlers have struggled, but one of my new students from MO posted 1880 in all events, so it CAN be had.

Some of the highlight videos I have seen it looks like can be played from multiple angles, some guys playing inside, others playing a very outside line(5 or less) with nice move into the pocket.

Where are you seeing highlights videos? I thought there's not suppose to be any video taping.

Videos posted directly by USBC on Facebook or social media. Nothing more than a frame or 2 is shown though.

Couple weeks back from Las Vegas and the USBC Open Championships now.

As a team we did really well. 2823 total for us with games of 922-901-1000 = 2823. We are currently sitting in the top 400 as the last time I checked. We should certainly cash with that score.
I had a 604 series for team event went 200-156-248 = 604 so very happy with that.

My Doubles and Singles were just ok, consistent, but nothing stellar. 537-538 for total All Events of 1679. I am happy with that as I beat last year. I struggled in Reno last year.

Brackets this year were just a waste of money for me with the new average categories. Maybe my squads were stacked with good bowlers, but I made nothing on brackets. LOL

I bowled the 40 Frame Game after we were done with the main events and did really well. Shot 1182 as a total score. This put me into 9th place as of the end of May score postings.

Last year I placed 42 or 43rd in the tournament and made some good money from it. This year, I should get at minimum double what I got last year which is pretty cool.

Again a successful trip to Nationals and should come out way ahead with my winnings once they get paid out. I didn't have to pay for hotel this trip as I have family in Vegas and stayed with them. :)

And VDub represents BB.com once again!!

Good job!!

My move to the Midwest has made the USBC Open a bit more of a pipe dream...the way it moves from coast to coast. At least when I was on the West coast I could almost guarantee that it would be in Nevada 2 out of 3 years or at least once every other year. :(

Well done vdubtx. Aslan many flights go to Las Vegas, even from the Mid West.:)

Final results posted for the National 40 Frame Game tournament and I placed 11th over all. Not too shabby. Got a nice check and is now my highest winning total from any tournament.

Unfortunately the overall turnout was lower than last year in Reno, which at the surface being in Las Vegas is surprising. But, the venue they had the tournament held in was in one of the worst parts of Las Vegas. They really need to find a better venue for the tournament when the USBC Open Championships will be held in Vegas again in 2019.
