Well we had the annual association meeting today.

Everything went pretty smooth, elected a V.P. and some delegates. Passed out some awards for HOF and service and a new one called the friendship award. which basically was for someone who doesn't particularly bowl here (subs though), but contributed a lot service to the leagues, house etc. over the years.

Talked about having to work harder on getting more participation in the City tournament, Our league bowling is pretty strong here. They cater to the leagues a lot, so we have a lot of loyal league bowlers here. But city tournament participation has always been low.

They had the payout for the city tournament and I got my prize money for our first place win in the team event and a couple of my teammates got theirs plus payouts for where they came in first & second place from the other events.

So wasn't a bad meeting.

Were they told of the dues hike?

No Fordman1 they didn't say anything about it at this meeting, Frankly I doubt anyone there would have cared if they had.

You know what is funny or not so funny is that I would bet that 99% of league bowlers have never been to a local assn. meeting. 75% or more have never been to a league organizational meeting unless it is the kind that is held the 1st night of bowling and they just happen to be there.

Maybe that is why bowling is fading away and center after center is closing.
