got_a_300's Thursday night summer scores

Didn't get around to posting any fall league scores so guess I'll
try to remember to do this summer league scores, well last night
05/18/17 was our first night of league and I didn't hold anything
back so there could be no one accusing me of bagging or anything
this time. lOL!!!!!!

1st game was kind of rough but I started to get it turned around
the 2nd and 3rd games after the lanes opened up a little and I
changed my hand position and ball roll.

1st game 196
2nd game 206
3rd game 247

ended up with a 649 series

Well this past Thursday night was frustrating to say the least
I just couldn't get any carry on pocket hits no matter how good
you hit it.

We couldn't get a good rack 8 out of 10 times but when I did
get a decent looking rack I struck, had to stand there and keep
re-racking until it got tiresome trying to get a good rack of pins.

They said that they were having problems with that pair of lanes
with the pins being off spot almost every time so we just decided
to let er rip and shoot what ever came up and take a chance on it
instead of standing there all night re-racking every time.

Well here are the results not all that great.

1st game 199
2nd game 191
3rd game 162

for a sickly 552 series

Well a little better night this past Thursday night at least better
than last week anyway.

1st. game 249 hung some 10 pins
2nd. game 202 hung a bunch of 7 pins and 10 pins
3rd. game 186 lost all carry but still hit the pocket but no carry

ended up with a 637 series could have been a large 700 or more
series if it wasn't for those pocket hit single pins. :mad:

Well this past Thursday night was a total washout at least
the first and second games were anyway.

The oiling machine was on the fritz and we had no shot what
so ever but the last game was a lot better than the first two
games.

I went all the way through my entire arsenal of bowling balls
and finally ended up using the Hammer Badass ball with a lot
of surface on it.

I haven't been able to use it here after I put a lot of surface on
it but it worked out just fine the last game well anyway on to the
lousy scores. LOL!!!!!

Well another lousy night tonight the oiling machine is still
on the fritz it seems, hopefully they will get it straightened
out before next week but oh well onto the lousy scores.

for a whopping series of 569 a few pins better than last week
gives me hope anyway. LOL!!!!!!!!

Oh well one more week of misery then I'm going to pre-bowl
for the 29th and then I'm taking 11 days off for a well deserved
vacation. :)

Well as luck would have it we got stuck on the same pair of lanes
as we were on the second week of bowling same pins being off of
spot every time every rack same kind of scores practically.

for a great big 545 series kind of pathetic for all the times I hit
the pocket solid it should have been a big 600+or maybe even
a good 700 series but oh well that's the way it goes I guess the
good with the bad.

Going to pre bowl next Tuesday the 27th for the 29th then taking
the next week off for vacation got a couple of subs lined up.

Oh well another no carry night again this evening went and
pre bowled for this coming Thursday 6/29/17 and I could hit
the pocket at will but could not get anything to carry so no
big scores out of me again. :(

yipee good news is I'm not bowling here next week as I'll be on

Wahoo on my vacation as of today drove all night to get here and it is worth the drive just to not have to bowl back home next week brought my gear so I can maybe bowl a few games up here.

I should look Aslan up he is just around 100+ miles from where I'm at and bowl a few with him.

Ok finally getting around to posting last week's scores I still hadn't
recovered from the vacation drive back home so was still tired so no
big scores for me. :(

for a great big whopping 518 series maybe tonight it will be better

Ok a little better last night the first game and part of the second game
until the oil did a magical trick of disappearing big time even our lone
left hander had his shot do a magic trick and disappear into thin air also.
I guess it could have been from the humidity and/or heat in the center as
the approaches were also kind of tacky.

Well a decent week nothing too big on scores it was a little
bit better than last week on the carry that is until the 3rd
game that is I started hanging 10 pins and I missed a couple
of them.

Well not the best scores I've had lately but did ok I guess considering
we had some open bowlers next to us that kept running out in front of
us and almost into us sometimes. :mad:

The owner finally came down and talked to them but it didn't do much
good after a few minutes they went right back to doing it again. I tried
not to let it bother me but I almost ran into one of them as they was
walking back off the approach not paying attention to where they were
going and walked straight into my path I had to stop before I run into
them and start my approach all over again and that happened several
times to me and my other teammates as well.

Oh well so much for the rant now on to the scores.

During league play?

That must have been open bowling.

I'm big enough that usually a "stern glance" keeps folks from continuing to come over in my lane. When I was in Vegas I couldn't get the group to stop...so I just went ahead with my approach and totally nailed one of the chicks as she backed into me. Once she realized a collision wasn't "fun"....they settled down quite a bit.

In Anaheim it was easier...because it has a high asian population and asians tend to "respect their elders" as a matter of culture. So, even on late nights on the weekend...if there were some drunk asian college kids next to me...I just needed to stand there and look their way...and as soon as they realized I was "displeased", they would apologize and the problem would be solved from there onwards.

The harder situation is children...because they don't know any better...and when you try to correct another person's children...that can lead to a serious "ramping up" of emotions. Families feel that open bowling with their kids is like playing in a park...and if you get annoyed, it's your fault for taking yourself and the game too seriously. Serious bowlers tend to believe parents have the obligation and duty to instruct their kids on etiquette.

I brought my daughter and two of her friends bowling one Saturday afternoon and was trying to give them pointers as they bowled. Suddenly, I hear one of the guys on the lane next to us say, "maybe the COACH should teach them about bowling etiquette." It was said loud enough that he was trying to get my attention. Lets just say...I wasn't very happy with how he chose to voice his concern...but there was only so much I could do while watching over my kid and two other kids. If I was by myself...and they acted that way...it wouldn't have went well. But, I'm not gonna risk having the police show up for an altercation when I'm watching my kid and two other children. But...it's just a really "jerk" way of handling it. They could have took me aside...they could have asked the desk to be moved...but instead, they acted like hillbilly ****les and then the girls were afraid to even go up and bowl because they felt like they were doing something wrong.

But...ya have people that consider bowling a sport...and a LOT of people that consider bowling just some kind of activity for a rainy day. Until we get the "sport" back...it's gonna continue to get worse and worse...IMO.

That must have been open bowling.

Unfortunately it was league but no problems this week as we were away
from the open bowlers and the owners didn't put any open bowlers next
to the teams that were bowling next to the open lanes.

If it had been open bowling I wouldn't have given it a thought but we were
trying to win some games to climb up the standings a little bit the higher you
get on the standings the more money you get at the end of league. LOL!!!!!!

for a 633 series pretty good I guess for having 5 other bowlers
playing right on top of my line and blowing out the shot.

Well not quite as good as last week but still a decent night
considering the lanes were desert dry from the get go way
too hot in the center tonight so the heat dried them out.

Well no 600 series this week the lanes were dry from the get go
we had a new lane man and he forgot to oil the lanes before we
come in to bowl league.

Well we had our regular lane man back and he made sure the
lanes were oiled right tonight I bowled better than last week
thank goodness oh well onto the scores.

old knee started hurting bad.

at least I was back in the 600's again with a 672 series I was
kind of hopping for a 700+ to end the league but oh well I got
close anyway. LOL!!!!!!!!

I know that fall doesn't start until around Sept. 21st, but around here many of the fall leagues started bowling this week and the rest start next week. Any reason why yours starts so late?

Any reason why yours starts so late?

Yes the reason we start so late is next week is our fun night/payout/league meeting
then the next week is the County fair week so most will be at the fair the whole week
so we just start the week after the fair.
