Reading a new Kegel article about topography called The One Thing That Really Makes Oil Patterns Play Different by Ted Thompson
The article talks about the three most common topographical shaped lanes today that they call the seagull-wing or bird-wing shape, depressed (dish-shaped), and crowned (mound-shaped) and how they affect your ball motion.

I'll have to study this more, Some of what I have read so far may have a bearing on what I call the November slump. That happens to me every year about this time. It has to do with the humidity changes etc.
