I don't know the model name, but they are by Circle Athletics and are Blue and Purple in color.

Since Circle Athletics is no longer, I am not looking forward to replacing them. They are very comfortable.

I used Dexter SST's, black and red, with a yellow sole. I am going to upgrade though in the future, maybe to some SST 7's or 8's.

Dexter sst5 comforts, man I wish I could find another pair. I picked these up online for ~60$, should have bought two pair at that price, doh.
I had sst6lx with the kangaroo leather before these which I like but I tend to wear out the inside of the heel on them all.
My first real bowling shoes were sst1's, blue suede,FTW!

i would definitely get a new pair! I rolled in SST1's for 10+ years, and while at nationals I picked up a pair of SST5's...a whole new world! My original shoes are still in decent shape, but the stitching was starting to stretchout and the sliding sole wasn't in the greatest shape. I gained some consistency with the new shoes, since they didn't have crap all over them ;)

you got me thinking with the glitter......I'm tempted to do a number on my old shoes just for fun.
I can picture it now.....those stupid neon curly shoelaces....a neon pink and silver checked pattern on the toes....they'd be utterly distracting and blinding under a blacklight...

but we're going to have to use our imaginations, my mom called dibs on my linds when I replace em.

Right now i use the circle athletics(recently bought out by Columbia 300). Black, with orange trim. Fairly inexpensive and have done the trick nicely. Later I'll get some Dexter SSTs or Etonics. But i saw these and needed some quickly so i purchased them and they have been fine. They also came with shoe covers and a bag so that worked out well.

I have a pair of Jason II. I have had them since i started bowling. I haven't grown much since then. But i do need to replace them. The Jason III have fixed the problem with the model i have. The slide pad detaches from the shoe where your foot bends cause that is where the pad stops. Now with the new model it goes further back and past the bend point.

Dexter SST6 LX's are my favorite shoe. Too bad they don't make this one anymore. Loved the kangaroo leather & the wide width and they fit like a glove. I also have the SST5 & SST7 and they are real good too, but nowhere near as comfortable as the SST6 LXs. I just picked up a pair of the 3G Tour Ultras and will use them once the SST6s wear out.

Just got a new pair of Etonic Stabilite Lady Pro 1's this week.
They fit well, they look sharp, and I like the replaceable slide sole feature.

Just getting used to the rather large heel on the shoe. It's kinda tacky and it's making me stick. I'm hoping the heel will wear smooth...otherwise I'm thinking about gluing a piece of felt on it.

So what do you use?

I use 3G Touring, men's. They are very very comfortable and do not hurt my feet when playing 10+ games in them. I also have a pair of Etonic basic shoe that have a flame design on them, my first shoe. I lend them to my friends when we go bowling and mainly use my 3G all the time. Since I'm league-ing in them I should practice in them, just my philosophy.

I'm currently wearing a cheapish pair of Dexters (can't remember the exact model name of the shoe).

They've lasted me 18 months of fairly heavy use and now need replacing. I'm still trying to decide on the replacement. They need to be fairly wide fitting, breathable i.e. probably leather (the current shoes sadly aren't) and maybe with an switchable sole/heel....

I went out on a limb and got a pair of Lind's John. They are black leather with a couple of classy when pinstripes down the sides and white pinstripe laces. I like them pretty good, but they are a little loose. I used to have quite a bit of toe drag which quickly wore out the black material around the bottom of the shoe, and actually the leather a little. In all fairness it was a pretty aggressive drag, but it still did a number on my poor shoes. The soles seem nice and solid even after hundreds of games. I've only taken a shoe brush to them once and they're still sliding like day one, and the traction shoe is just awesome. All in all, they were a 1/2 size too big and wore down quickly (though that is likely my fault.) Everything else about these shoes leaves little to be complained about, so I give it a 4/5.

Dexter Jacks.

Cheap and comfortable. Can't say much for the soles though. But to me it doesnt matter, I don't like a lot of slide.

I'd like a pair that arent black or white. There are very few (if not black or white) that aren't tacky looking 1990's tennis shoes.

I've bowled in a sport league the last few years. A lot of guys who bring 6 or more balls, have or soon will have their PBA cards. In short, some really serious bowlers. No one has ever made fun of me when I've worn my cheapest pair of dexters. Generally if they notice an older style of shoes the comments will be positive, like, " I used to have a pair of those, they were great!"

I've been shopping around for my next pair of bowling shoes. I currently have AMF universal style shoes, where both shoe soles are identical. I'm scouting bowling shoes that are righty specific, where the left sole is a sliding sole, the right sole is a traction sole - more like a sneaker - for a stronger push from the fourth step into the slide step.

These are the three at the top of my list and I'm considering each, but would like to try them on first.

Pyramid:
http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-shoes/Pyramid/10497/Men-s-Ra-Black-Right-Handed.html

Brunswick:
http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-shoes/Brunswick/10534/Men-s-Steeler-Right-Handed.html

Etonic:
http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-shoes/Etonic/8720/Men-s-Sport-Strike-X-Black-Right-Handed.html#

These are all in my "Under $70" price range. Not that I wouldn't love having top of the line Dexter's. I'll wait until I can compete at the next level (over 200 average on THS and have competed in a few tournaments) before I start buying top-shelf equipment. I'd like to know I can bowl my best with the equipment I can afford first.

To wrap this up, in short... I'd just like to know if any of you have worn or heard anything about these shoes specifically and what opinions you may like to share with us here. Thank you all.

I just bought a pair of Etonics. As long as they hold up, I will never buy anything other than Etonics again. They are just flat out great. I know Dexter is more popular, but I can't see them being better than my Etonics. BTW, my average since buying my Etonics is around 210, before that it was around 180. Not saying it's because of the Etonics, maybe more because my 3G's sucked so much LOL.

My hubby's shoes for Lebowski Fest. He bought some Linds rental shoes then taped and painted them. They look great. Spray paint really has come a long way. They dried fast and aren't cracking. He prepped with acetone and used Krylon. 784

He was using the Dexter Ricky II but recently got a pair of Pyramid Ra's. He says they are more comfortable and are Rt hand specific but they're not leather so I can see them wearing out quickly.

I just got a pair of brunspros. They're made by dexter. The all white is a little bright. I call them my magic shoes! It took a little time to wear them in but I really like the changeable heels and soles. I like a lot of slide so if the approaches are tacky I can switch to the #10 slide. Works great!
