Being away from bowling for 15 years has me lost. I used to be able to walk into a pro shop and point at a ball and tell you what it's characteristics were. When I needed a new ball I would tell them what I wanted. Now I feel lost and at the mercy of the PSO's, hence all of my research. I have read some really good reviews on the DV8 and it is on my short list of possibilities. I have been using loaner balls from teammates (even a right handed ball for me, a lefty). I am reluctant to spend much money without being sure I am getting a quality ball. Haven't heard anything negative about the DV8 so would LOVE for it to be my first ball after 15 years.

I like Boatman am not familiar with the DV8 line. I've done extensive research online and looked at just about everything available. Still after all that research I have not been able to come to a good conclusion other than sticking with brands I've purchased in the past. If my finances were in better shape I'd have no problem just taking the plunge and experimenting like the old days. Unfortunately, that's not the case so I'm likely to purchase Hammer products as they have always served me well. That's still a little down the road, pretty sad save just to get a new ball like I did when I was a kid. Bad part is even with research I still may make the wrong choice, it's a coin flip at best. If I'm going to experiment, this is the way it's going to have to be done at least for the immediate future.
