He really wasn't actually my dad, he's been dead for a few years now. I had a customer come to the bar and I thought maybe he was a bit slow mentally. No problem, we get all kinds and you really never know. I gave him his beer he requested and within 5 minutes I realized he wasn't slow he was already pretty drunk. He was spouting off with some steadily louder babble of how great life is. Then started yelling at the straw dispenser telling it that it's his ex-wifes fault of why his life isn't as good as it should be.
Wow it was a flashback of my life. I nudged my co-worker and said "Meet my Dad" LOL He thought I was 100% serious. I said "No you goof, it's not my actual Dad but sure acts exactly like him to a to the point of being scarey" That was exactly the way he used to act just about every day for the 40+ years I knew him. All I could do is laugh and shake my head. It made me realize I wasn't alone and there were others just like him out there. Personally I was okay thinking he was a one of a kind. Needless to say I did NOT serve him any further. It proves sometimes it's very hard to tell if someone has a disability or they are drunk, even my co-worker didn't know.
They say it's possible to someday meet your doppelganger. I haven't met mine yet but I sure met my dads. LOL
