I suck! lol. They updated our averages for the summer leagues after 12 games and I am at 154. When I quit bowling in 2002 I was 193. I bowled 40ish games in the fall league after my return and finished a couple weeks ago at 173. Now today 154. ugh...I think most of my issue is the 2 man team thing. I am exhausted, sweating, and worn out. With 2 man teams you barely get a chance to sit down. Part of it is mental and forces me to rush my shots because of the frantic pace and the other part just being wiped out. Last night my knee was very sore. A few times I took an extra step after my release just so I could keep my balance and not have to aggravate my knee more by hopping. I could tell my arm was tired by the way I released some of my shots. I rarely hit my mark all night until surprisingly the 4th game I started hitting it. What doesn't make sense is my first game isn't any better so that shouldn't be caused from being worn out? Maybe the fast pace though?

So why so I suck? Well we have 40 2 man teams (and a few fill in subs) and I am 3rd lowest average. We have one at 128 and one at 146, then me. The only good thing is up until now we were going off my 173 average for our handicap so we were getting beat up pretty bad with that. Next week it will be based off my current average.

We bowl 4 games a night.

Week 1: 135, 172, 136, 157
Week 2: 168, 180, 130, 164
Week 3: 137, 165, 163, 151

My 3rd game has been my worst and my 4th one of my better on the night so not so sure being worn out has that much to do with it?

Starting to come to grips with the fact that I'm just not the bowler I used to be. Being 15 years older, 50 lbs. heavier and having a bad shoulder has taken it's toll. Time to just go out and bowl and have fun. Whatever happens happens.

I’m the exact opposite, just returned to league bowling this summer ( 3 man teams) and I hate how slow the pace is. Two man teams sounds perfect for me.

Hang in there, boatman. You have the right attitude about it though. Just have fun with it!

It's funny how things go 25 years ago I averaged 198 in youth leagues and back in those days a 200 average was still something to be proud of. I came back about 4 years ago realized the game has changed a lot learned all I could even though my lower ball speed is a much bigger detriment today than in the past I had worked my ways back into the 190's but this season just got worse for me the longer it's went on ended up in the 180's but it's really worse than that as the last 2 months were even worse.

Hopefully I'll recover this fall and keep at it averages can move both directions even as it maybe painful to watch

Yep. When I left 15 years ago I was at 193 and was about the 5th highest average in our league. Went from the top to the bottom. The only 2 people I am higher than is a guy I don't know and the other is a 70 year old lady. Sad part is I'm only 49 so not THAT far over the hill
