My previous high avg for a season was 189 when i was 20 (in 2000). last summer a 185.
Now thanks to lessons and better understanding of lane play and using the proper ball i ended at 207 ..2nd in the league which i am so happy about.. Now i need to work on my spare shooting now. I am also putting too much pressure on myself to get my first 300...i want it now!..also tend to have one bad game to ruin a series...don't know how that happens..

This is one you don't want to pressure yourself on. I'm 52. Been bowling since the age of 8. Been close soooo many time, but never got there. 4 299 games, and a bunch of Andy Veripapa 300's.....

Generally speaking, if the first game is usually bad your body is not properly warmed up and ready to go. Either that or your mind is still thinking about work, school, or that really stupid thing you said to your significant other before going bowling. Low scoring second games are almost always a result of not adjusting to transition fast enough. Bad third games can be a result of the lanes transitioning to a point where you are forced out of your comfort zone. The other possibility not being in good physical shape to throw a third good game, or should I say being physically or mentally tired.
