Brunswick D.O.T. - Marketing Hype or Breakthrough?

I've been checking out the videos Brunswick is releasing (almost daily) on its new Durability Optimization Technology (D.O.T.). In short, they are now putting the pin at the bottom of the ball so that you have more drilling/layout options by not having to work around the pin. Because of this, Brunswick is now giving a 4 year warranty on balls with this technology.

Do you think this is a sign of things to come for other companies (though, apparently Brunswick is trying to patent this)? Or, is this just good marketing?

It was nice when drilling my Fearless to not have to worry about the pin. The layouts I like to use will usually put the pin very close to my finger hole which causes me to to adjust and drill the pin out. With not not having to do that I’m able to get a more precise layout without worry.
