Hammer

The first game was 229, 174 and 190 for a 593 series. This was my high for the year. Not bad for a guy with bad knees and almost 73. I haven't had games like this in a while. My strike ball was my Columbia yellow dot with a 400 surface. Ever since I put that surface on it it works great. I just seemed to have the hot hand today. I made the right adjustments as the three games series went on. In the last game I had two opens in the first six frames then in the 7th I got a strike and one in the 8th. Then a 9 count spare in the 9th and then three strikes in the tenth for the 190. I thought that I wouldn't see games like this anymore. My knees were so bad that for the first two months of the season I had to bowl with no approach. Just went to the foul line and set up and swing three times and let it go. Very hard to bowl good like this.
Then one day my knees didn't feel too bad so I tried dry run approaches with no ball. My knees seemed okay so I started bowling with a modified approach. When I make my slide I can't get low like I used to. I still have a good swing and release and can get decent revs on my ball. I relegated my Blue Hammer ball to picking up anything that is right of the head pin. So I was glad to get a series like this. I used to bowl good until the knees didn't like bowling. At least now I have an approach and can get a decent speed of 12.5 mph.
