Picked up my T-Zone tonight. Was really happy with it. Surprisingly actually. I kind of regretted ordering it but if I continue to cover 7's like I did tonight then I'm happy. Didn't use it at all in game 1 as none of my spares were on the left side so used my strike ball. Game 2 started with a pocket 7-9 so used it to take out the 7. 2nd frame pocket 7 and used it to cover the 7. 3rd frame pocket 4-6 and used it for the 4. Game 3 was 3 for 3 on 7 pins so made everything I tried with it. The only mistake was a 4-7. Moved over a little from my 7 pin but it went wide and took out the 7 and missed the 4. My plan for now is to use it for 4, 7, and 8 pins then after some practice may use it for others.

Oh...and scuffed the new ball with a slightly used 2000 CTD pad before I started. The only time I tried it in warmups it went into the gutter but then the ball return broke so no more warmup shots

Yeah, going in the gutter is pretty common for people switching to plastic for the ball side corner pins. As a coach I highly recommend using plastic for any single pin spare other than the five pin. On the house shot, whatever you’re throwing for strikes will work for pins 1, 3, 2, 5, 8, &9, but on a sport shot you’d be surprised at how many good bowlers miss the 8 pin trying to hook at it.

Well I'm glad you has a successful initial night with it. It will take some time to adjust so try not to be to disappointed if there are some growing pains as you progress with it.

I was actually not expecting to do very good with it last night. Not sure if I have ever thrown plastic? When I started out at about 10 years old I had a yellow dot. Later on I had a Brunswick Black Beauty. Not sure if either of those were plastic but if not then I have never thrown plastic. I expected to miss a few 7's last night just cause 1) my accuracy isn't the best 2) first time with plastic.

I did see on a couple of those 7's I barely caught the inside of the pin so I know for 100% certainty if that had been my Rhino it would have hooked past it. I was almost certain I had missed those but the plastic stayed on course. My reluctancy to go with plastic was because I tend to hug the gutter on 7's and ride the last couple of feet right on the edge and I was afraid the plastic wouldn't hold on but surprisingly it did.

Plastic can hold the edge on the outside on hose patterns usually. Of course I'm lower speed if I had as much surface on mine as you do I could hook the lane lol. It actually always makes me nervous when advice I give works immediately because then people just expect it to continue but truthfully plastic is just easier for right side spares.

3 weeks in with the new plastic ball (9 games) and I'm 7/9 on 7 pins so far. Definite improvement!. Left 3 4-7-10's last night and a few 4-7's and covered 3 of 4 of the 4-7s with it and the 4-7 on all 3 of the splits
