As for Monday, very tragic...because you even picked up that difficult spare in the 10th...had a shot at a clean series...and then...POO. And it was a lane you struck EIGHT STRAIGHT TIMES ON!! We needed Bowl TV there to cover that so I can get some insight into what the heck happened. Was it the tropical storm going on outside? Did an alligator run in the place and bite you? What happened!? I need commentary!!

My parents winter in New Smyrna Beach. Can they come by on Tuesdays and interview you? (In case it's a lack of a keyboard issue).

Definitely would rather have the series ruined by a split than a missed single pin spare. Of course if you think about it the split would mean I missed the transition or maybe I just wasn't playing the right line to begin with.

Response to the 11/9 series. High shots frame 2 and 3, both lanes. Made adjustments, strike, light hit split, bomb ten, light hit split, strike, strike, strike.

Missed corner pins are the worst. Followed closely by light hit splits. I play aggressive lines tight to the pocket. I expect big splits on occasion. If I can hit 10-11-12 at the arrows and strike, I play at 12 usually.

Yes it was raining buckets and crazy humid, the team was watching outside through the glass side doors, thinking it may not let up.

I have been on a diet since mid July. This has greatly helped my balance and arm swing. Now at 223# from 250.

We were a mens league until this year. I didn't go to the meeting but I guess because of COVID they knew we would lose members so I guess someone brought up making it a mixed league. My first day back I heard a few guys talking about how there would be some very upset members because of this but if they weren't at the meeting to object then they have no room to complain. So the PSO made that statement based on the fact they would already be upset about women being there at all.

Boom! On fire. I may have realized something I'm doing wrong on my approach. I went through about a 2 month stretch averaging about 207 but the past month of bowling I'm probably averaging 185 or so. I was watching Brad and Kyles new video on youtube today and they were talking about their approaches and little mistakes. I started thinking about my approach and realized it isn't the same as it was when I was on that good stretch. Gonna try to focus on that tomorrow and see if it helps. My cadence is off. My 3rd step was a short stutter step with my last step being longer but realized my last step has been much shorter lately so hoping that is my issue

Should have moved 3-2 or 3-1 right. Two 10 pins missed right. Frame 5-6 changed ball to one that could not make the turn.
Frame 7 on, changed back to the Hammer urethane and moved right.

Path forward, New Smyrna Lanes are the type of house you need to move right (for righties). Next week the Roto Grip hot cell will be in the bag. Hot cell has the awesome core and urethane as well.

Ormond uses at least 3 presets on their oil machine. Day, night, ncaa / hs. Monday at 1 has more volume and length compared to Thursday at 7.
Thursday I average 212 for game 1. With 10 men per pair, mostly young, using high end equipment, the oil is quickly removed. This Thursday I will take my tournament ball for game 2 + 3 [visionary raven].

New Smyrna has a little more volume than Ormond. NS is 4 man team, mostly young, and the 10 pin carries better here.

My Ormond 1pm and New Smyrna 7pm average is roughly the same. 223-219.

It wasn’t anything you said. There was nothing in your post that suggested was anything deliberate on Blacksox’s part to lower his scores. What I meant was I hope no one in his league accuses him of sandbagging.

Once the handicap percentage gets close to 100% the “S” word starts getting thrown around. Sometimes it’s directed at a really good bowler when he has a couple of bad games, especially if his team is way ahead or behind when he makes a bad shot. Other times it’s used on an average bowler who happens to have a really good game. Maybe I’ve just been in leagues with too many sore losers.

That sucks. I have a bad back and shoulder and a few times considered trying to get a fill-in for me but went anyway and bowled really well. I think it was because I had no pressure and expected to do bad. My back has been bothering me now for a couple of weeks but bowling hasn't aggravated it. But at this point I'm just waiting on the season to be over and kind of gave up caring. Right now the only thing I'm in it for now is my average but it has dropped 4 pins in the last few weeks so that isn't even working. The way it has been I usually don't even want to be there anymore.

Wow.... I have never used a layout like that. The closest ball I have like that is a halo pearl (polished) with a 70 x 2 3/4 x 50 which is really smooth and killer on the right shot. Not a good week bowling wise for me. Something going on with my approach. I wish I bowled with better bowlers who could help me out. Steve
