Well up and down night. Bowled my best game ever but found my new ball was cracked. Started the night with a 279 using the Uppercut. Every shot was in the pocket but the 6th frame was a hair high and left the 6 pin. Haven't been happy with the Glam. No room for error at all and not good carry. Today I threw it on the spinner and started with a 500, then 2000, then 3000, then 5000P (CTD pads). Got there tonight and noticed a few 'ring' cracks around the thumbhole. Ball only has about 5 games on it. It has a switch grip in it. Showed the PSO and he said to go ahead and use it then leave it with him tonight. Haven't liked that ball but with the new surface on it it did really good tonight.

1) would having those small cracks affect the 'carry'?

2) Will DV8 warranty this? A guy in our league said he had a similar one and they wouldn't.

I stumbled off a ladder over the weekend and tweaked my back and it is sore. Then yesterday I cut my thumb and it apparently swelled cause my regular insert was too tight so had to use the bigger one than had been way too big so I had tape in it. Had to even take the tape out tonight.

Sorry to hear about your back and thumb! Hope you feel better soon!

Having those small cracks in the cover around the thumb shouldn't affect carry.

It is tough to say whether or not DV8 would be willing to warranty the ball. Usually cracks that form around thumb or finger holes are not covered under warranty since they are considered cracks/fractures related to drilling. If the ball were to crack somewhere else, nowhere near the fingers, then it would most likely be covered. But if there are cracks in or around the finger or thumb holes that can be a tough warranty claim. Never hurts to try. The worst they can do is deny the claim.

Usually the only way to fix the issue is to drill out the cracks, plug, and redrill. I have had a few balls in the past with these types of cracks around the fingers and/or thumb. I just let them be. Most of the time they never got any worse. There may have been one or two times where the cracks got worse and started chipping/splintering, but by then the ball was old enough that it was time to just replace it entirely.

Sounds good. It was one of the ones I won in the recent raffle so worst case I spent $40 for the DV8 and Uppercut so even if the DV8 goes in the trash I got the Uppercut for $40...lol. I used it for 2 games last night and it doesn't look any worse than it did when I first noticed it. Never had one crack there before

Just looked at the stat sheet from last night and I had high game of the night. Another guy rolled a 278. Pretty sure that is the first time in the last 2.5 years since my return that I have had high game
