Okay, so for most of us our fall/winter leagues are either over or winding down. So what are your summer bowling plans?
Will you
A. Join a summer league
B. Take the summer off
C. Take lessons or just work on your game by yourself
D. Try a Sport or Challenge league
I plan to enter the summer Sport league. I do have a few weeks in between where I may try to work on technique.

Starting my usual Friday morning summer league (continuation of Fall/Winter-with a week off). Will be secretary again. Have some goals for this league set already. Average, physical changes to game, and newer ball to figure out where it fits and when.
Starting a new summer league on Wednesday mornings on the 19th. It's a 9-pin tap league, so mostly for fun and social. Never bowled a 9-pin tap league, only an annual tournament, so I'm unsure of how to set my goals.
Since my elbow surgery and the reduction of ball weight, have only managed to get up to 160 average. Regular bowling will be concentrating on spare making. I guess the 9-pin league will be more for watching ball reaction, as I have no idea what average to set for a goal.

No summer league here this year. First time taking it off since my return in 2018. May schedule my hernia surgery for this summer so that's why I'm sitting out. May fill in for summer league if I get called for it but other than that hoping to get some practice in before fall/winter league starts

Will pray that your surgery and recuperation goes well.
My start in bowling came when one of my dad’s teammates had to have a hernia repaired in the middle of the ‘74-‘75 season. I got to sub for Bob during the two months or so that he wasn’t allowed to bowl. When he came back, we had all six of us there every week with the low man sitting out the next game. If the person who sat out the first game was low the second game, the next lowest bowler would sit out. We continued that way through the next season. After that I was away at UCONN and only got to bowl a few times when school was off. After college I continued to bowl with Dad antil he gave up bowling in 2008.

Thanks. About 6 or 7 years ago I had a bad cough and shortly after had a bump on my belly. I think I ripped my stomach muscle during that coughing gag. It only bothers me once in awhile and had planned on having it done last year but then COVID happened. We boat all summer and put our boat in the week before Memorial Day and leave it in until mid-September but from the time bowling is over until we put the boat in I'm busy buffing/waxing and getting it ready. Figure I can take a few weeks of just sitting on the boat at the marina while I'm recovering...lol

No summer leagues for me. I will be practicing throughout the summer. Just don't like being tied to one night during the summer. Steve

Finished fall/winter league last week and started my summer league last week as well. No rest for the weary! LOL
Summer leagues are very popular around here. Our center has approximately 5 summer leagues per day going on. My summer league has 22 4-man teams on it.

Well tomorrow is the first day of summer league and my partner from last year just called and said his teammate hurt his hip and can't bowl tomorrow...lol. So looks like I'm filling in for him. Hoping it is only a week or two though.

Good luck. I had a teammate recently injure his hip and he was only able to bowl 3 or 4 times over the course of 14 weeks or so. He paid for a lot of substitutes.

Geez...kind of wish I was bowling the whole summer league. Looking at results and scores are very high. On second thought maybe it's good I don't get my average that high...lol. 3 weeks in and there have been 4 300's. 2 last night and 2 last week. None in week 1. Also a 299 last night. There are a couple of guys averaging over 240 after 12 games. Will see how they look after 30 or so games.

I’d be very surprised if they can stay at that level for the whole summer.
We had our league awards dinner this week. There are quite a few people doing one summer league, maybe three or four joining two or more leagues. The general consensus at our table was a combination of “I need a break from bowling” and “It’s summer. I want to be outside gardening, kayaking, golfing, etc.” One of us was having shoulder surgery in June and only two at the table were doing a single league each, just to keep the muscle memory intact.

Yeah. Kind of why I'm sitting out this summer. We have people drive a couple of hours to get to our summer league. Not real sure why. It is a higher paying league but not that high...lol
