A guy in our league last night hit the front 11 then left a 7-10 split...lol. Sure it wouldn't matter which 2 pins but sort of like a slap in the face with a 7-10. He is a great guy and has had his share of 300's but I'm sure it still sucked

Worst possible timing for that but that's bowling sometimes. At least he's had 300's before, it would really suck if that happened when he was trying to get his first one. He's probably had some 300's where he threw not-so-perfect balls that struck so I guess it evens out. That's at least how I look at it. For example, when trying to get my first, I rung a 10 on the last shot for 299. Great ball out of my hand, probably one of the best balls I've ever thrown under pressure like that. Very frustrating. A couple of months later, I had another opportunity to get my first one and tripped the 4 on the last shot for 300. That definitely made up for the ring 10.

Sounds like something I would do. Probably threw it a little hard and the ball did not read quick enough. Still a great game! Steve

My father-in-law left a pocket 5-pin which is the closest he's ever come (he has a 299 ring - they used to give those) - we actually have that pin in our living room! LOL

Yeah my best friend has his dads 299 ring from back in the 80's. He used to wear it to bowling once in awhile. His dad died in 1994

Terrible luck to say the least but at least it got swept off and he has a good story to tell.
