Wife texted me that Mark Roth has passed? That sucks. He ran a local center here for a short time when I ran the youth bowling league back around 2002. Being the internet was so new I didn't know enough about Mark to appreciate the times I got to bowl with him. Great guy!

This guy was literally my hero growing up. I emulated much of my style around his, and some of it is still present today, like the short-step footwork. To say I lost a hero and role model would be an understatement....

Wow. That is a real shocker. I don't watch the news anymore so I have no idea if any of the news shows talked about it. I saw him and his wife on a video of a 2021 pro bowl tournament. He didn't look bad. I remember watching him on TV when they had the bowling tournaments on. Sometimes I watch videos of him bowling in the 70s and 80s. That is a sad bit of news for sure.
