Currently using Hammer and Roto mainly, but looking to switch to all Roto in the near future.

I love LaneMaster, but it tends to be a bit too strong for the house that I bowl in. Right now, Storm seems to match up well for me in this house.

have several brands, but lately have been effective w/ the track line. 11, i have the Rising SE ( its drilled rico at 2k + polish). This piece has a very aggressive cover, hence the mild drilling. It allows me to play 20 & inside and swinnging it out from 15 to 1 with a hard charge to the pocket. Have not tried it out yet in a tourney setting, but will soon as possible.

Hi all,

I'm throwing mostly Hammer, with an Ultra Zone, & four(am I the only one throwing these??) AMF. AMF helped me to my first 300 on Jan27th,2009. Old school ball for an Old school bowler..lol..thinking of buying a Sauce or Acid for heavy oil sport conditions..not sure which one yet..

What's the oldest ball anyone is still bowling with? Is it still a good ball or has the oil patterns made it obsolete?

I've still got an ebonite tiger....it goes long with a sharp snap into the pocket. Last time I threw it, it snapped clear past brooklyn.
I don't really use it anymore lol

I've been using Storm for at least the past 4-5 years faithfully. Currently using the Virtual Gravity (definetely not my favorite  ) Dimension :), Secret Agent ;) and I occasionally will pull out my Triple X  . . . current average between 188-192 depending on the league. Really hoping to one day have a 200+ average . . .

I will still use my El Nino Gold by STORM and my Triple X by STORM . . . only when I'm frustrated by my newer ones (Virtual Gravity, Dimension and Special Agent) . . . but really at that point I could have a 20-ball arsenal and it wouldn't help (guess I should really work on that mental game  ) Sometimes I just want to roll my good old faithfuls that fit like a glove!

Hey there,

I really love the Storm stuff. In fact I was the winner of the Virtual Gravity Tournament via Virtual Tournaments. The Virtual Gravity is a great ball!
My husband loves his 2nd Dimension & has been posting some high games! He also just got the Rogue cell....it's totally awesome but has to have the right lane conditions.

Legends/LaneMasters here by far (36), with a couple of Visionary and Roto/Hammer/Ebonite/Storm represented on the racks as well.

Storm, but mainly because the pro shop guy was sponsored by Storm. I'm getting a Hy Road drilled up tonight.

I have used some Big B stuff (before the move to Mexico) and I had an Ebonite No Limit that I liked a lot.

Going strictly by what is in my current arsenal, here are the brands I use:

Brunswick (Twisted Fury Solid, Swarm, Copperhead, Fury Pearl TE)

Columbia 300 (Perfect Rival)

Hammer (No Mercy x 2)

MoRich (Awesome Revs)

Storm (Virtual Gravity, Secret Agent)

Currently I'm using one ball from each Columbia, Brunswick, and Lane Masters. As of recently, I'd turn my arsenal into an all Roto Grip and/or Storm arsenal. I intend to try some equipment by them when I get the chance.

I use Ebonite because...well, it's all I have! Plus, they are local...Hop-town is not too far away to the north, and they have a house in Columbia TN about a half hour to the south. I'd try others if I could, but the $$$ isn't there right now. Besides, I am still learning to throw properly, better perhaps to stick with what I've got till I feel I've maxed it out. Don't think I'm there yet.

For the last 2-3 years, I've been much less than excited with the offerings by the various ball manufacturers. That's changed in the last six months. We're at a somewhat unique point in time where most, if not all, of the major manufacturers have a good piece or pieces on the market today.

Storm finally produced a true heavy oil ball that has seen mass acceptance in the Virtual Gravity.
Roto-Grip hit the jackpot with the Cell.
Ebonite's Magic seems to be gaining mass appeal.

We see Hammer Vibes all over the place. Brunswick is hard for me to judge because I live in an area where Brunswick seems to be the dominant brand.

Personally, I use a little bit from everyone. I love the Storm stuff from 2000-2001 and still use a bunch of stuff from then. I was a big fan of the Hammer Diesel line and I'm glad to see them bring back the core with updated surface under a different name. Like many others, I loved the V2 line from Ebonite. They brought it back with The One surface wrapped around it. That's a shame for me, I never had any luck with those cover stocks. Columbia 300 puts out some exceptional stuff from time to time and I love the Lane 1 basic diamond core with the Brunswick PK18 cover stock. I still have a couple of Blueberries. I've even had some success with Brunswick over the last couple of years. The Smash Zone has been one of the best "control" pearls I've ever had. I'm dying to try the Elite Black Label - need to get my pro shop guy to order one for me.

I bought my first ball, Roto-Grip cell pearl over Ebay about a year ago, without really knowing much about it

Then I bought a Virtual Gravity from the local pro-shop a few months ago, after seeing it in use on the internet, so far I haven't been displeased with it, though I wish I could exchange the cell pearl now, not my kind of ball I suppose

So Storm/Roto, which is funny because those are the companies that sponsor this site!

I will be throwing mostly Big B from now on. Maybe another company mixed in here or there.

I was exclusively using Storm and Roto Grip. Now I am just using MOTIV and Elite. If I rejoin the Tour I will have to go back to Storm and Roto Grip. MOTIV and Elite are not PBA Eligible at this time. If you want to try something new look into MOTIV and Elite. They are great.

Storm all the way for me. Why I chose Storm to start is I like their website interaction and ball chooser which makes it spot-on for choosing a ball. I know where I bowl, their lane conditions, and so far it has been on the money for me. Thanks Storm and Bowlingboards.com...
