Entered our county Sr's tournament yesterday at a center I have never been to. Same place Stephan Kosela rolled his 900 last year. There was 28 of us in the first squad. I warmed up with the Zen Soul and the Helios. Neither would hook. Decided to go with the Zen Soul but tugged a few shots and just wasn't accurate. Missed a few spares and finished with 190. Near the end of game 1 I moved out to the 4-5 board and that was working. Game 2 rolled a 241, game 3 a 234 for a 665 scratch. Add my 90 pins handicap and my 755 was top of the sheet. Top 16 were in so decided to sit out 2nd squad. Ended up 2nd of 37 entries. Ladder style format so I was paired up with a guy I didn't know but I was spotting him 5 pins. 1st and 3rd frames ball rolled of my fingertips and opened those 2 frames but finished with 205. Other guy had 200 so we tied. Roll off he was getting 1 pin. He rolled 40 to my 39 so I lost by 2. In the end I was up about $35 for the day but I didn't do it for the money. I was happy with that.

Game 1: 190 (6 strikes, 1 spare, 3 opens-1 split)

Game 2: 241 (9 strikes, 2 spares, 1 open)

Game 3: 234 (6 strikes, 3 spares, 1 open)

Game 4: 205 (7 strikes, 2 spares, 2 opens)

Series: 870

Average: 217.50

Strikes: 63% (28/44)

Spares: 53% (8/15)

Single pin spares: 75% (3/4)

Splits: 0% (0/1)

County association tournament starts this weekend. Lasts 3 or 4 weekends. Me and my son are bowling singles and doubles this Sunday. Will figure out teams later. Very wet house where I bowled state Sr's team event and nothing would hook. Son has a 124 average. mine is 196. Taking my Helios, Altered Reality (1500 surface), Zen Soul (3000 surface) and Raw Hammer pearl which I really doubt I will need but my luck the oil machine would be broke that day and I'd need it...lol. And of course, my T-Zone

Ugh...rough tournament. Yesterday scores were very high. Today scores were very low. It is what it is. I ended up throwing the Helios (2000) most of the day but tried the Altered Reality (1500) and Zen Soul (3000). None were very good. Helios seemed to be the best but still not great. In doubles I rolled 148, 224, 153. Singles I rolled 181, 131, 178. My book average was 196 so not good. League mate beside me has a 220-225 average and he rolled 480. He said of the 15 games on their pair there were only 2 200's and they had all 220+ average bowlers. It was a THS but I heard lanes at the beginning of the house were completely different then the end (we were on the last pair).
I tried all 3 balls and threw from the 3 board to the 3rd arrow. I could get 2 good shots then it was gone. took 2 or 3 shots to get it back then 2 shots later it was gone. Guy beside us gave up and was throwing plastic.

EDIT: My son was my doubles partner. His average is 124 but there is a max handicap so they gave him a 150 average. In doubles he rolled 107, 118, 184. In singles he rolled 110, 133, 154. With handicap he had 397 scratch and 586 handicap. I had 490 scratch and 554 handicap. In doubles we ended up with 934 scratch and 1258 handicap.
