I've always been under the impression that any house that has a USBC sanctioned league should be reporting all honor scores (300's, 800's, etc.) to the USBC, and those are to be posted on the bowler's stat page on bowl.com. Anyone know if that's fact or not?

It is the league secretary and local association's responsibility to handle that reporting. The house only does it if they are also handling the league's secretarial duties.

Absolutely correct. Once in a blue moon it might be the local association manager failing to forward the info to national. Most of the time it’s the league secretary at fault. If you do roll an honor score it’s a good idea to make sure your league secretary is aware of it.

Trust me, he knows. One of them was rolled against his team.....

Are they still giving rings for a first 300? Heard they were doing away with that? If they are I need to get mine before they end it. Had the front 8 last night

still giving rings - one of our members just got his.

I got my triplicate patch couple of weeks ago.

Make SURE your secretary reports things properly (it's their job) . . .

Still giving rings, but only for the 1st 300 or 800. After that, you can get them, you just have to pay full price. If I make it to 10, I may pop for another one.

Good to know cause I feel I will get my first this year.

Steve Kosela was #37 or 38 to roll a 900. We bowl in leagues and tournaments together. Last I heard he had about 85 300's so probably over 100 now. He told me he took a few of his rings to a jeweler to have them melted into 1 ring that was a super bowl style. He also told me he had given 6 of his rings to youth bowlers and told them to give them back when they got their first 300. This was last fall around September he said he had only got 1 back so far.

the whole melting-them-down thing may not go the way he wants. They're made by Josten and their alloy is a special thing, from what I've been told by a friend who does refining, casting, etc. They can't be resized up in the normal way (stretch) and they're a royal PITA to size down (cut and solder) since the normal jewelry silver solder doesn't like it.

But that would be cool - I only have one 300 and that was while our league was unsanctioned due to being right at the end of COVID and we'd be paying full sanctioning dues for 2 months of league. . . my own suggestion! LOL - shoulda seen that coming!

i'll ask him about it next time i see him. He was signed up for our summer league but then his name disappeared so probably won't see him again till fall tournaments start. He bowls Friday night leagues at my center and I'm Tuesdays so usually only see him in summer league and at tournaments
