Our counties USBC association is having a 40/40 tournament Sunday. The house it's at isn't very friendly to me but will see how it goes. Me, my son, step-son and another guy on our team will be entering. Still not sure which one of the boys I'll partner up with but they re both around 162 averages so will see. Wish us luck!

Good luck Boatman. Does the 40/40 mean one bowler is over 40 years old and the other is under 40?

yep. one old guy (me) and one young guy (my son)...lol.
I'm sure Mr 900 will be there tomorrow (Stephen Kosela)
I was told by the PSO that drilled my Pi that the pattern at this place is jacked. IIRC he said they mop oil on the fronts after running the machine. It was something really odd. Can't remember if that was it or not. But he tried to convince them to let him build a pattern for them but they refused. Maybe they have fixed it by now. A couple years ago I bowled our state Sr's team event there. A guy on my pair before me has a 237 average. He rolled a 510. I rolled a 540 right after him. Later I bowled another tournament there and 2 guys from my home center were in the pair next to me. Both 225 averages. I think both bowled high 500's. I guess the guys that bowl there every week do good on it though. Taking my Pi, Xponent and Raw Hammer pearl. I might grab my Helios too just in case. It's a short pin so very controllable but very early so may leave a bunch of 7 pins

Welp...decided I will never bowl there again. I know the right answer is to go figure it out but nah...just won't go there anymore. Seems you have to be a hi revver to do any good. I threw my Pi the whole time. It was the strongest ball I had with me. Had a pretty fresh 2000 surface on it. Definitely needed more. I targeted from the 3 board to the 12 board and could not get to the pocket. I probably only hit the head pin about 50% of my shots. Tried slowing my speed way down, staying behind the ball, coming around the ball...nothing worked. The coach that has been helping me was watching and his best advice was just angle from the gutter to the pocket. But if I missed 1 board outside it would just skid down the lane and never turn. Top 16 made it in. 2 squads with 70 entries total. We were 65 of 70. My step-son and his teammate were 69/70. We had 1247 with handicap. They had 990 or something. I threw 7 strikes in 3 games. Mr 900 was on the pair next to me and told me he had no carry and kept leaving corner pins. Not sure how he did but he did make the field. #1 qualifier was 1545. 16th was 1440. Cash was paid down to 23rd with 1401. We had to move 2 pairs after each game and all 3 pairs played different for me. Lanes 19-20 had no hook at all. Lanes 23-24 had some hook and a little miss room. Lanes 27-28 was kind of in between those 2. I have bowled there 3x and have had a 540, 510 and now a 450 with a 195 average. Probably needed about a 500 surface on that Pi. Supposed to be a THS but not sure.
