In the coming months, we'll talk with some of best-known bowlers at the Open Championships and get their thoughts on their time at the tournament and what it takes to succeed on the championship lanes.

This week, we heard from Amanda Vermilyea, who will be in Las Vegas to compete in this year's event on March 11 and 12.

Vermilyea (formerly Burgoyne) is a former member of Team USA (2005-07) and Junior Team USA (2003-06). She has been a regular face in the top 10 at the USBC Team USA Trials and has earned 13 gold medals in international competition.

Amanda and Erik bowled juniors at the same time as my son Brian.
I can remember when they were starting out. She has come a long way
