LAS VEGAS - Jeffrey Robertson of Tempe, Ariz., rolled the eighth 300 game of the 2009 USBC Open Championships on Monday, while Jason Neiman of Warren, Mich., made his own run at perfection before finishing with 299.

Neiman, who began striking first and started doubles with 11 consecutive strikes, left a 4 pin on his final offering. He added games of 227 and 246 for a 772 series and teamed up with Justin Neiman for a 1,356 doubles effort, which puts the pair in 11th place. Ron Nelson Jr. of Bridgeview, Ill., and Bryan O'Keefe of Arlington, Texas, lead Regular Doubles with 1,466.

"This is by far the best I have shot at the Open," said Neiman, who made his fourth Open Championships appearance and added 692 in team and 586 in singles for a 2,050 all-events total. "On that 12th ball, I felt some nerves come over me. I pulled it and left the 4 pin."

Minutes after Neiman fell short in his bid for 300, Robertson rolled 12 consecutive strikes at the other end of the venue. His perfect game came between games of 191 and 175 for a 666 doubles set.

"After the first game, I had to make a huge adjustment," said Robertson, who bowled collegiately at Arizona State University. "I had to shift my whole mindset. I struggled in my first game, so I switched balls and moved way left."

Robertson added 706 in singles and 568 in team for a 1,940 all-events total. Even though he was nervous, the perfect game was by far the highlight of his trip.

"In the 10th, I knew I had to make a great shot," said Robertson, who made his fifth Open Championships appearance. "The 11th ball was the best ball I threw all game. On the 12th, the nerves started to settle in, but once it left my hand, it felt great. I'm stoked. This is my favorite 300 by far. It's nice to have your name in lights."

I missed it. The booths were pretty well shut down when we bowled. Not much activity when you have the 8pm and 11:30pm shifts. I could have used some Verve on that late shift:D
