Saw this article posted on another site. This is a good intro for the new bowler on what to carry in your bag.

Lip balm: though it might come in handy in the event of chapped lips, lip balm also makes a very useful anti-sticking agent. There are times when no amount of adjustment to the thumb hole keeps the thumb from sticking. Applying a bit of lip balm to the point on the thumb where the
sticking is occurring can help free up the sticky release and provide opportunity for much cleaner shots.
haha, that one made me laugh.

LOL A few weeks ago one of my teammates came and asked it I had any powder with me. I said no, that I never carry it. He was having problems with his thumb hanging up slightly. His next question was if I had any lip balm or chap stick. I thought he was kidding, I hadn't heard of that before. It is now a part of the stuff in my accessory bag as well as my purse.

I always have powder, but I've never thought of the lip balm thing before. The wife almost always has one in her purse, it's time to add one to the bag.
