ARLINGTON, Texas - A national television audience will get a closer look at the charitable work of the bowling industry during The Bowling Foundation Long Island Classic, this week's stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour.

Sunday's finals, which will be telecast live at 2 p.m. EDT on ESPN, will include the premiere of a new public service announcement highlighting The Bowling Foundation's growing role.

The Bowling Foundation is a recently-formed non-profit organization that partners with key groups in the bowling industry to create a single focus point for bowling's charitable efforts. The Bowling Foundation is officially recognized by the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, Professional Bowlers Association, United States Bowling Congress and Strike Ten Entertainment as the charitable arm of bowling.

Viewers will hear success stories about some of the most important programs the foundation supports including: Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen Bowl for the Cure, Bowl For Kids' Sake supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bowlers to Veterans Link, the USBC Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarships, and the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame.

Special guests on-site for the event at AMF Babylon Lanes in West Babylon, N.Y., will include breast cancer survivors representing Bowl for the Cure, Special Olympics athletes, and participants in Big Brothers Big Sisters.

"The world needs to know about the great work and partnerships coming together through the foundation," The Bowling Foundation Executive Director Troy Greisen said. "With the support of BPAA, PBA, USBC and the entire bowling industry working together through one charity, we can accomplish much more with the millions of dollars generously donated every year."
