VirtualTournaments.com is an amazing site. They have paid out a LOT of money and have a great following of people. It is truly a site no no other.

Do you participate? Share your stories, thoughts, and maybe how much you have won on this site.

What reasons do you recommend people should play in these tournaments?

Let's talk Virtual Tournaments.com

I currently enter the tournaments provided by virtualtournaments.com . The website is VERY well ran with very nice and informative people. I print the flyer and pass around my centers to try to get some more people. The competition is good for the tournaments, they offer handicap, scratch 220 and below and scratch over 220. the handicap is 80% of 250 so almost everyone gets some sticks added. you have the option to get into brackets, sidepots, and eliminators wfor each tournament as well. With the tournaments running each week there is plenty of chances to get your hands on some cash. The entry is currently $20 for SINGLES and $26 for DOUBLES. BUT as of April 1st the prices will be going dow. If you may be interested in this idea check out their website and if you would put me down as a reference. My user name on there is the same as here StormBowler13. They offer a referral service where you recieve $5 for every person that puts you down when they enter their 1st tournament. So check it out and dont forget aout me ;-)

The site still needs more bowlers. The more bowlers the more $$$$...

The entry fees have went down so no more excuses...lol

I'm wary of the virtual tournament sites. I see the opportunity to deflate scores for handicap and inflate scores with the handicap. Call it a trust issue.

All of that is checked and recheck by the directors... You must fax your recap and standing sheet or scan and email it. Once the scores are received if you are in a cash position they call the center or league secratary to verify the scores once again. If anyone is caught cheating or anyhting like that they get banned. And since the accounts are linked to your USBC # its not like you can just make another account and get away with it.

Yes you will have to shoot over ave to win anything but then again what tournament do you not have to do that? If you know of one I would sure love to know...lol Me for example used a 184 ave this past week and shot 612 scratch. I made it to the finals in 5/5 brackets and finished 10th in the tournament.

Its a good thing they have going and are always changing it up to make it more fair for all. You should just give it a try. If you want we could maybe even do doubles when that starts back up. I was also wary just like you but now that I have started bowling in them I love it! It add a little something extra for league. Really makes you focus on gettin all the pins possible...

Also with the Ave and handicap since they have you USBC # they put you book ave into the site so that way if any sandbagging si going on this season then your book ave will be used.. Its whatever is higher of the 2.

If anyone else is interested in this site please see below and add me when signing up as being referred by me. Thanks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The weeks of 08/31 and 09/07 will host FREE Tournament entries while we test out our new infrastructure.

All entries will be free during these two weeks. This includes Singles and Doubles, Youth and Adults, as well as all brackets, sidepots and eliminators.

If you were ever wanting to try this out, this will be the time to do it! This will also allow us to test out our new website prior to the real Tournaments beginning 09/14.

Until then, you will be competing for bragging rights!

Please enter the free weeks and let us know if you encounter any issues. We want the Tournament to be SOLID by the time the 09/14 Tournaments start.

Thanks!

Robert, it just came to my attention that the league I'll probably be joining is starting on Sept. 12th. Would it be necessary to send in standing sheets? Being the first week, I wouldn't be able to do that so am I out of luck for the free tourney?

JaxBowlingGuy
08-14-2009, 09:19 AM
yea, looks like you wouldnt be able to enter. you could enter the 1st week of the real trny if you have a yearbook average as well.

I got a message from Scott the virtual tournament owner. you can enter with your 1st week of league. the recap sheet is the only thing needed.

Okay, so I could enter the free tourney and the average I establish that night would be the one used. I think that makes it harder to place well but since it's free it's not a big deal. Did you still want to do doubles then, or have you found someone else?

JaxBowlingGuy
08-16-2009, 10:26 AM
you can do multiple doubles... whats your user name on there? and what league you using? ill sign us up with both of my leagues

Strike Force is my username. I want to wait to give you the "OK" on signing us up only so I can make sure doing this is okay with the bowling center and with my dad since it's his fax machine I'll be using. Are you sure you can enter us in twice if I've only got one league even if you have two?

JaxBowlingGuy
08-17-2009, 09:17 AM
you can enter multiple times with multiple people. since i have 2 leages it will be like 2 different teams so we can do that..

The 1st real $$ Tournament starts next week!!! Get your entries in.. they now have the 3 different average divisions so no excuses..lol They also have doubles.. I will be sitting the doubles out the 1st week but plan on shooting them the 2nd week if anyone is interested.. I did see that MrBill entered.. Goodluck..

Please make sure that you look at my signature and add that I referred you to the site. Thanks!
