Hey, Naples! Greetings from across the state, north of Fort Liquordale. We pass through your fine city on the way to Tampa when we go up there.

Tommy Hudson is famous and I have him on tape from broadcasts on ESPN Classic. You might want to search youtube or mrbowling300's site for video of him. You're not far from one of the premier drillers in Florida, either, Larry Lichstein. He ran the services truck for the PBA for years.

There's usually a Florida mini gathering in the fall, either in the Tampa area or in Orlando. Keep in touch or watch these spaces to find out more details as they become available.

Welcome, and we're glad you're here.

lets start with what kind of ball??? Where is the pin and CG in relation to the fingers???... From what you are talking about it sounds as if you have a pearlized ball with some polish.. If thats the case you coulf have your local proshop take some polish off to dull the ball a little. This will cause the all to get into a roll a little earlier.. But thats only some of the "problem", could be your layout as well.... Without seeing you bowl or knowing the details of the ball its kinda of hard to say...

If the cell is still out of box finish then i would be looking more towards the drilling... Also keep in mind that roto grip is owned by storm.. and storm has been known for a while as a "skid/flip" company.. Roto grip balls do tend to roll a little earlier than storm over all but they share technology and info... I just thought of another thing, maybe its the shot the house is putting out.. if the backs are really dry then the ball would tend to take off.. The cell is the biggest hooking ball roto-grip currently has out so you do have to remember that when matching it to the shot... If you check the reaction chart on their site you will see that it is more aggressive than the pearl and rogue cell... after seeing the video it should be a little easier to help

Ok after watching the vid i noticed a couple things.. 1, the ball looks to be polished of some soft.. this will cause the ball to store energy longer and have a sharper back end usually.. like i said in a earlier post if you dull the ball up some it will actually calm it down a hair and make the movement a but more predictable... The layout you have is VERY VERY close to the layout that i put on 95% of my equipment.. It looks like a stacked #8 storm layout.. its a good all around layout but i have noticed tends to not like the really heavy oils that you may run into at the bigger tournaments.. thats where my other 5% of equipment comes into play with my "tournament balls" with my "tournament layouts"... If you worked on tryin to stay more behind the ball with your hand when throwing it could also help with the big snap.. This is just a little bit of info from what i noticed.. if anyone else has anything to add please do..

Below is the layout on most of my balls "Shift pictured"

i tried t ostay behind the ball and when i do that i speed WAY up and it just goes stright...i went from throwing 14.5's with that snap to throwing 20's with no hook

That layour does tend to be a little snappy on thr back.. I would try dulling the ball some then. Its 2000 out of the box.. maybe go back to that or if thats still too much go up to 4000. It will lose a little movement but you should find that it will be easier to control.
