In the "other" thread, we affectionately call threads like these, "post whoring threads." Do you want to build your post counts up? Do you want to one day be cool, and have 50,000 posts? Here's a good place to get a couple in.

Conversations tend to randomly break out in a thread like this, and that's fine. Sometimes NOTHING breaks out, and that's fine too. Sometimes people type in things like, "ten characters" and that's fine as well. But the bottom line is: I've never heard of a board that doesn't have a limit to how many posts can be in a thread. True, it takes thousands of posts to reach the end, but that just means we better get to posting because:

by the way, did you know you can see how many posts you have in a particular thread?

if you look next to the thread title, there's a little envelope looking thing-a-ma-jig, and it has an arrow pointing downwards on it to show you've replied to a thread.

well, if you hold your mouse over that icon (don't have to click on it) it will tell you how many posts you have in that thread.

The only reason I say this is because the thought occurred to me: Someone could have the most posts in this thread and still lose....

Right there, from what ive heard, it is a ball from the 70s, made overseas, and its so hard that they had to spray water on the drill bits to drill it, and keep the bit from overheating or hanging up in the ball, also that they took forever to drill as well. Since its so hard, its supposed to be the straightest rolling ball ever made since it cant pull in any oil and gain traction, it just hydroplanes across the oil. 14.7 pounds was the heaviest they could make with the material they used as well. :)

If you're looking for a good "between seasons" summer read, might I suggest Cemetery Dance by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. This is the 9th in their wildly successful Pendergast series and was just released last month...terrific stuff, three thumbs up because two just isn't enough. :D

an F-4 hit our high school right around the time school dismissed.
The high school is still there....I went to that high school lol
We had some nasty storms come through one afternoon while I was at the high school for a track meet.....my mom came up and took me home and told me about how she walked that very field after the tornado rolled through and she found a boy with a 2x4 jammed through his leg.

We got hit with 2 smaller tornadoes last year....and a funnel cloud this year back in April, that never developed into anything.
scary stuff, especially when you've grown up hearing the horror stories from the 67 tornado.
