Former American Bowling Congress Life Member Bert Lindgren of Liberty Lake, Wash., died June 11 at age 95 and former ABC Director Joseph Griffith of Milford, Mass., died June 14 at age 76.

Lindgren joined the ABC Board of Directors in 1957, retiring and being named a life member in 1978. He was a charter member of the Northwest Hall of Fame in 1963 and also elected to the Spokane (1966) and Washington State (1986) Halls of Fame.

The retired heavy duty truck and trailer sales executive was active in local and regional bowling administration since 1940 including a stint as Spokane Bowling Association president in 1961.

A memorial service celebrating Lindgren's life will be held at noon July 18 at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane. An on-line guestbook is available at riplinger.com. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to El Katif Shrine Temple, 1108 W. Riverside, Spokane, WA 99201-1197.

Griffith was elected to the ABC Board of Directors in 1991 where he served through 2004 when ABC merged into the United States Bowling Congress. He was elected to the Massachusetts Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001.

The longtime Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training employer services representative was most recently serving on the advisory committee of the Blackstone Valley Technical Vocational High School in Upton, Mass. He won a state seniors championship in 1989. He served many years with the Worcester County and Massachusetts BA including terms as president of both. He was a life member of the Worcester County BA.

Griffth's funeral will be held June 27 at 9 a.m. at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford, MA. Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be June 26 from 5-8 p.m.
