In the coming months, we'll talk with some of best-known bowlers at the USBC Open Championships and get their thoughts on their time at the tournament and what it takes to succeed on the championship lanes.

This week, we heard from 2008 Regular Singles champion, Bryan Young, who will be in Las Vegas to compete in this year's event on July 20 and 21.

Last year in Albuquerque, N.M., Young put together games of 278, 286 and 268 on the way to an 832 series and the Regular Singles crown. He added 677 in doubles and 656 in team and finished second in Regular All-Events with a 2,165 total.

This week, the 35-year-old right-hander will put his title on the line with just three days remaining in the record 154-day run of the 2009 USBC Open Championships.

If he's going to become the first bowler to win back-to-back singles titles, Young will have to roll the highest series in 106 years of Open Championships competition. Current singles leader, Bo Goergen of Midland, Mich., rolled games of 299, 299 and 264 for a record 862 series.
