2 schools of thought on this one. 1. ball cleaner for both after game and a deep cleaner for every 25-50 games. 2. simple green/water for after game and a hot water bath for every 25-50 games. Both have their advantages, #1 is guaranteed not to damage your equipment, #2 is inexpensive. I personally use Remedy RX from Valentino Bowling for my after game cleaning, and use the almighty dishwasher for the deep cleaning every 40-50 games. However if you go the hot water dunk/bath, you don't have to tape the holes, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to give the ball(s) a day or two to make sure any water that does get in has a chance to evaporate. Another idea worth mentioning is that wine corks are a good finger/thumbhole plug if your fingers are close to the same size should you go the hot water bath route.
