View Full Version : Do you have a Lucky Routine?

So do you remember when you bowled that great game or series and you were wearing your pink bowling shirt or your blue strip socks?

Do you wear and do certain things differently after you do something great in hope of doing it again?

Do you kick the step at the approach for good luck?

Do you kiss your ball?

Maybe you don't make eye contact with other bowlers?

What do you do that may sound weird to some but perfectly normal for others.

I don't usually believe in luck...but I still carry around the towel from the year my majors girls team won the Illinois state YABA tournament.

I hold my ball against my stomach and turn my right heel inward slightly just before I start my approach...

I don't keep things around as "lucky" but I do tend to keep things around that are reminders of achievement. I keep four aces in my wallet from the time I hit quad aces in a casino. I've got several discs on my wall that I've hit hole in ones with and as for bowling I've got printouts of my best games and series in my bag and I love throwing out the old ones.

I believe in consistency, and I have 'exactly' the same routine before every shot, from the time I get out of my seat to the last step off of the approach. Yeah, I'm superstitious, but the routine helps keep everything in order. Also, before I bowl, I try never to eat. I believe eating before or while your bowling makes you slower to think and react. I believe your senses are much sharper on an empty stomach. There's plenty of time after bowling to grab a bite to eat. Just my thoughts. (weird as they may be)
