The deadline to submit applications for the Star of Tomorrow awards presented by the United States Bowling Congress is Oct. 1.

The Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Award, presented to a male bowler, and the Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow Award, presented to a female bowler, each recognize star qualities in a high school senior or college student who competes in the sport of bowling. The star qualities include distinguished certified bowling performances on local, regional, state and national levels, academic achievement and extra-curricular involvement.

Each Star of Tomorrow award winner receives a $6,000 scholarship that will be formally presented at the annual USBC Convention, April 28-May 1 in Reno, Nev. USBC will pay travel and hotel expenses for the winner and one guest to attend the award ceremony . The Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Award is named for the former executive director of the American Junior Bowling Congress and Young American Bowling Alliance. During his years with AJBC and YABA, he found many opportunities to promote youth bowling and was involved in the formation and development of what is now USBC's Youth Leaders program. Previous winners include Andrew Cain (1999), Sean Rash (2001), P.J. Haggerty (2004), and Chris Bardol (2009).

The Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow Award is named for the seven-term president of the Women's International Bowling Congress. Her dedicated efforts brought improvements in member services, competition opportunities and leadership training for women. Under Crowe's direction, the Star of Tomorrow annual honor for young women bowlers was launched in 1961. Previous winners include Mildred Ignizio (1967), Donna Adamek (1975), Tish Johnson (1980), Lynda (Norry) Barnes (1988), Diandra (Hyman) Asbaty (1998), Missy Bellinder (2001), and Ricki Williams (2009).
