I guess someone has to step up to defend baldy that has to answer to him. I also surmise that contrary opinions are to be stifled, hence what happens on the PBA boards. Here's an exchange we just had in Facebook about one of my posts about the telecasts.

"We watch, but only because of tradition. Think of all the money they're saving to pay Tom. As for writing, his stuff in US Bowler was bush league at best. "The artist formally (sic) known as Prince." "Thew Zabruder (sic) film." "

Kevin:

If you are going to attack someone's writing career, may I suggest you spell check your own copy first? If you are referring to the tragic events of Nov. 22nd, 1963, that would be "The Zapruder film".

Yes, I know it's Zapruder, hence my use of "sic." The illustrious Mr. Clark had spelled it that way. Check your back issues. Maybe it would have more impact on him if he were alive when it happened. Or at least aware. I realize he's a grand high mucky-muck, but since I'm not getting a check from him, I think I should be entitled to my opinion. Sorry about the typo with "The". I corrected that immediately.

Consumer of the PBA's product, though I guess not part of their target demographic.

And I gave his guy a good review? What a Jack....

I had a further thought, so I added more:

It occurs to me that you might not know what "sic" means. Here's a definition from Wikipedia: Sic is a Latin word meaning "thus", "so", "as such", or "in such a manner". In writing, it is placed within the quoted material, in square brackets--or outside it, in regular parentheses--and usually italicized – [sic] – to indicate that an incorrect or unusual spelling, phrase, punctuation, and/or other preceding quoted material has been reproduced verbatim from the quoted original and is not a transcription error.

Hence my use, twice , of it. It's "the artist FORMERLY known as Prince." If it were "formally" wouldn't we call him Mr. Prince? Consider yourself edified.

I see he's dropped me as a Facebook friend. I guess I should be properly chastised now, huh? ...Off. LOL!

Oh, and I know I've missspelllllled his name.

I've lost the PBA feeds on my page, too. I guess I'm persona non grata now. Funny thing is Tom Clark hasn't unfriended me yet. It looks like I'm just going to have to write the sponsors that they have and regret my inability to purchase their products or services over this little incident. Plus, there's plenty of other stuff to watch on a Sunday aternoon.

Really? Something else to watch on Sunday Afternoons? My option #2 is the back of my eyelids, option 3 is bowling websites on [sic] "teh interweb". There is no option 4.

There's always the food network or the history channel. My PBA feeds came back, but I guess Mikey is still upset with me. Maybe I upset his wittle feewings.
Xtra frame: extra cash I won't spend on that.
Pwning Mike Jakubowski: priceless.

Kev,

If you feel the need to add a FB friend, feel free to let me know and I will do my best to fill the void, whilst not being such a jerk. :)

what was this all about ?

It was about all the tape delay shows in the WSOB. He took umbrage with someone else for complaining about cutting out parts of the show, and the guy said Tom Clark should go back to writing stories. I chimed in from there and apparently he felt he had to rise up to defend Tom Clark. Now watch "sic" appear in Mike J. Laneside. What a tool.
