It seems everytime I'm googling anything about bowling I keep coming up with this book:

http://www.yesbowling.com/?hop=instantool

Has anybody read it or heard anything about it? The marketing makes it look like a total scam. Anybody?

Haven't read it but I agree that the marketing looks over-hyped. After years of bowling, a " few minutes " are not going to make a big change in your habits. My favorite is the one about learning how to throw a strike every time. Why would you need to learn how to make every spare? Every match would end in a tie; 300 to 300.

I think I'd wait till it hit the Best sellers list before fooling with it. Looks like it's an infomercial in print form and that's if it's real? Good luck and good bowling

This reminds me how we never see the headline "Psychic wins lottery again". If this fella has the secret to throwing a strike every time, why is he not on the PBA tour, winning every match?

If you're looking for a good book on the mechanics of bowling and basic lane play, consider Bowling Execution (http://www.amazon.com/Bowling-Execution-Master-Technique-Maximize/dp/0736042172) by John Jowdy. This book teaches the modern mechanics and John Jowdy is the only coach in both the ABC/USBC and PBA hall of fame.

For advanced bowlers, I strong recommend Focused for Bowling (http://www.amazon.com/Focused-Bowling-Dean-Hinitz/dp/073603708X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265840862&sr=1-1) by Dean Hinitz. Once your mechanics are good, it's generally the mental game that separates the wheat from the chaff.

No gadgets, no tricks, no scams, just good explanations, examples and plenty of answers to the ubiquitous "why?" for better understanding.

If anyone else has a book they would suggest, I'd like to hear it.

I have both of these books; just got Focused on Bowling this week, in fact. Bowling Execution is excellent, I have it on my Kindle for iPhone so I can browse it whenever I want. Can't wait to finish Focused and try to keep my head in the game. :)

The Ultimate Bowling Guide is pretty lousy. I know a bowler who picked it up. He said it was the worst bowling book that he read. He printed out a chapter for me to read. It was dreadful. Don't waste your money.

There are a few other books out there that are pretty decent. Fred Borden has a couple of them. You can get them through www.mybowlingcoach.com. "Bowling: Knowledge is the Key" and "Bowling: Ten Keys to Success" are both good. He has one other book on advance adjustments which I might pick up in the future. The Ritger books aren't too bad, my wife got them for me for Christmas about 15 years ago.
