The title says it all! Participated in a King Of The Hill handicapped tournament against 21 other bowlers. $25 entry, I figured it would be a nice first tourney (non 9-pin no tap), and get some games in. Well, dang, was I surprised at the outcome! With my 165 average, I was getting 36 pins each game, and they definitely helped put me in first.
First round scores -- 172 - 183 - 181
Advanced to the second round, which was a surprise. I wasn't even last, I was 7th or 8th out of 11.
Second round was 2 games: 194-176
After this, I was the second seed! Holy wowsers! LOL
Final game, only 2 of us had handicaps. I took first with a 193 (229), and won by 4 pins. Nervous as heck when I was throwing that last ball, I had the first 2 strikes and needed a 7 count to shut out the next place bowler, so I just took a deep breath, nice easy swing, and put 10 in the pit!
Brought home $135, I'll put that in my new ball fund.
Oh......I threw all 6 games with my Black Widow Nasty! What a great ball!
