Can you suggest any "good" books on bowling? I`ve read much online but looking for more. I`ve read "Bowling Execution by John Jowdy" and came away with some new insights. I`ve learned that just because someone is famous and successful does not mean their a good teacher. If you have read a book that open your eyes or made you think please share it. What would you suggest?

"Bowling 200 +" by Mike Aulby has been a very good read in my opinion.

Besides Dean Hinitz's aforementioned Focused for Bowling, another excellent bowling psychology book is Bowling: The Handbook of Bowling Psychology (http://www.amazon.com/Psychology-Library-Borden-Edwards-Lasser/dp/1885693680) by Dr. Eric S. Lasser, Fred Borden, and Jeri Edwards.

A good book on bowling mechanics and systematic practice and self-evaluation strategy is Doug Wiedman's Bowling Steps to Success (http://www.amazon.com/Bowling-Steps-Success-Douglas-Wiedman/dp/0736055282/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268427064&sr=1-1).

However, it seems to me that there is no truly comprehensive and current book on advanced bowling knowledge available, one that covers everything from bowling ball physics and state-of the-art ball layout strategies to reading and understanding various oil patterns and how they break down to how to strategically break down oil patterns in practice and competition to advanced alignment and other strategies for leagues, tournaments, and match play, and so on and so forth.

If you subscribe to PBA Xtra Frame (http://xtraframe.pba.com/), listening to the commentary of the experts there is likely to spin your head around and make it almost explode with a ceaseless flood of technical details about the modern bowling game that you may have never dreamed of but need to know if you want to compete with the big boys and girls in everything from local scratch tournaments to PBA regional and tour events, and there needs to be a book that covers all of this. Xtra Frame's "Bowling Doctor" Jeff Mark says he's going to write one, but I'll believe it when I see it.

In the meantime, one of the most comprehensive technical bowling books I've seen is the dated but still useful Par Bowling: The Challenge (http://www.amazon.com/Par-Bowling-Challenge-Thomas-Kouros/dp/0963913603/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268428107&sr=1-1) by Tom Kouros.
