Hello tank69, same simmilar problems you are having. I've been out of bowling for about 20 years. Just bought 2 new balls and I'm all over the place. This past weekend we had the Johnson City team tornament and I got so frustrated I used my spare ball for the last 2 games.
I hope your post gets some replies, maybe I'll learn something.

moast of the problem i am having is timing. had my brother go open bowling with me and we figured out i was way to far from foul line. pro shop guy watch me he said i am lifting the ball to much with my fingers.
use to be able to get away with it but not with theses new balls . good luck dont give up

Tank,

Good to learn you are back bowling. Perhaps you might consider using the services of a USBC certified coach or a local bowling professional and pick up some tips and pointers to help you get your game back in shape? It is certainly fun using the new bowling equipment in today's market but getting your game heading in a good direction as quickly as possible is also something to consider. Ask around for the name of a successful coach in your area and give some thought to grabbing a lesson or two so you can enjoy the game to the max?

Wish you well.
