From the short periods of time that I have coached kids I have picked up a lot. One of the things I realized early on while coaching is that a lot of the game of bowling for them is mental.
I wouldn't say that you need to give them a pep talk before they begin, but rather a reminder that they won't bowl perfectly but that's ok. Remind them that consistency and lots of practice are needed to be a great bowler. And of course, try to keep their confidence and moral up as much as possible both as individual players and as a team.
