i have been using the "prodigy" ball for awhile now and getting a lot of 9 pin leaves lately, especially by the end of the first game where i am losened up. i am thinking of going (buying) a lower performance ball like the "avalanch" or in that area for that reason. is that a good thought or should i go to a advanced ball like the "diamond back"? and i was even thinking of a urethane ball for more pin action or should i still stick with the higher performance balls and what are your thoughts ?

It probably depends on which pins you're leaving. If they are mostly ringing tens, (sorry , I'm assuming that you're right-handed) I wouldn't think that a different ball would help. If its the nine pin you might need something that deflects a bit more than the Prodigy. If its a different pin every time the problem might be you;) I know that have a hard enough time trying to hit the same mark twice in a row, let alone with the same speed and release. I would make sure that its really a case of getting tapped on good shots before trying a new ball.

thanks john for the reply. one league day i left 4-9 pins in a row. other days i leave about 1 or 2- 9 pins. 7 and 10 pins a can deal with and other leaves but when i leave that many 9's , i have to think it might be the aggressive ball.

Yeah , it definitely sounds like the ball is driving through the pins too hard. I hope some of the experts out here come up with a good sggestion for you.

The Prodigy is a very strong ball. You might try making a move in to lessen your angle of entry into the pocket to help carry the 9 pin. Both the Reign Supreme and the Tropical Heat (black silver) are Hybrids and will be a step down from the Prodigy. You also might look at the Nomad Daggar or a Dark Star

I would take a look at the Riot. This will give you a very smooth and predictable reaction, perfect for when the Prodigy is a bit too much on the backend. I would also second the Tropical Heat Black/Silver. I think the Reign Supreme and Nomad Dagger may not be enough of a step down from the Prodigy.

today , instead of cupping my wrist (where i think the problem came about) , i went back to rolling my wrist (down and out) again and it took a lot of the hook off the back end which help me quit a lot. i will get a better idea in my next league later this week if that was or is the problem. there are soooo many variables in this game and i hope this is one of them that works. until the next time.....keep grinding.
