During the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, the only lane Sam Hornish Jr. looks for is the passing lane.

But Hornish Jr. and a few friends will take to the bowling lanes of the Brunswick Zone in Watauga, Texas on October 30 to enjoy Hornish Jr.'s other favorite sport - bowling.

Hornish Jr., driver of the Mobil 1 Dodge, will be joined by celebrities and racing personalities for the 4th Annual Sam Hornish Jr. Celebrity Bowling Tournament. The charity event is part of the NASCAR Dickies 500 race week at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.

The charity event began in 2001 when Hornish Jr., a three-time IRL champion and winner of the 2006 Indianapolis 500, was still racing in the Indy Racing League. Last year's celebrity bowling event raised $124,000 for the Speedway Children's Charities Texas Chapter and has brought in more than $300,000 in its first three years.

Speedway Children's Charities was founded by Speedway Motorsports Inc. chairman Bruton Smith with a focus on communities surrounding SMI speedways. SCC went national in 1982, and has grown to fund thousands of organizations nationwide that help children.

Participants expected to attend this year are NASCAR drivers Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch and Juan Pablo Montoya, FOX reporter Krista Voda and SPEED's Wendy Venturini.

Sponsored teams of four will bowl with a celebrity or racing personality. The $2,500 Team Sponsorship includes lane signage, autographed team photos with Hornish Jr., goody bags and refreshments.
